About this listen

Bloomsbury presents The Lost Tide Warriors by Catherine Doyle, read by Patrick Moy.

'Doyle’s talent for creating windswept, stormy tension and physical threat sweeps all before it. This is one for a seaside holiday, whatever the weather’ The Daily Mail

In the brilliant sequel to The Storm Keeper's Island, winner of the Books are My Bag Readers Award, Fionn Boyle finds himself at the heart of the fight for the island's survival.

Fionn Boyle has been Storm Keeper of Arranmore for less than six months when thousands of terrifying Soulstalkers arrive on the island. The empty-eyed followers of the dreaded sorceress Morrigan have come to raise their leader and Fionn is powerless to stop them. The Storm Keeper’s magic has deserted him and with his grandfather’s memory waning, Fionn must rely on his friends Shelby and Sam to help him summon Dagda’s army of merrows.

But nobody else believes the ferocious sea creatures even exist. And how can he prove he’s right without any magic? As Fionn begins his search for the lost army, the other islanders prepare for invasion. The battle to save Arranmore has begun.

Amazing story and fabulous performance. All 3 books are captivating. We’re listening to them all again a year after first hearing them. I already know we’ll listen to them again next year.

Fantastic!

My whole family including kids aged 11, 9 and 7, loved this series. The story has a great mix of characters, excitement, emotions and manages to get some folk lore to come alive. Can't wait for the next one. The performance is so good--pleasant to listen to, distinct voices for each character. It really adds to the experience.

Brilliant story and performance. Gripping.

Absolutely stunning. I’ve never heard anything like it.
Warm, poignant, funny, heart wrenching and deeply moving. I cried so many times, this has never happened with a book.
Left me with a feeling that no book is going to touch this...

Exceptional and profound

Words will fail me here. All I want to say is that this is so good, it deserves an award. The first book was brilliant, but this was even better. Was crying at the end! Catherine Doyle’s descriptions are so vivid, she is such a gifted story teller. And once again Patrick Moy’s narration is top drawer. What a fantastic creative alliance. Can’t wait for the next one.

Outstanding, even better than the first one.
