Critic reviews

“The magic of C.S. Lewis’s parallel universe never fades.” The Times

“When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness.” C S Lewis

I came back to these for my babies sake, something for him to listen to. But I would have to stop each time because of the weight of the darkness over Narnia. This is saturn, the last medieval planet to have its influence over narnia and Aslan triamphs once again, for the last time.

The last book and a good finish

This, the last Chronicle of Narnia, is an enthralling tale to conclude the series. As a child I enjoyed it as a good story but now as an adult I enjoy it on a deeper level as an allegory of the end times of this world and the glory of eternity with the Lord.
Excellent narration by Patrick Stewart

A beautiful depiction of Christ’s return to judge the Earth, end this age of darkness and recreate the world anew. This book is an exciting and hope-filling imagination of what the final days will look like, and as ever CS Lewis writes the voice of Alsan to sound like he really could be quoting the Bible. I thought I’d be sad the Narnia saga is over, but the final page has me so uplifted - the story isn’t over at all, but only just beginning!

A beautiful depiction of Christ’s return!

This is a brilliant ending to the Narnia series and it is brilliantly narrated by Patrick Stewart. Lewis’s descriptions are stunning and he ties together all loose ends in this final Narnia chapter.

Thoroughly recommended.

Great final book of the series, great narration
