Characters have good back stories and events keep moving plot along at a good rate. I also like the use of personal thoughts to counter an event or discussion

Wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book as hadn’t read the first book and it took a while to get into the story but it got better and better very clever story line

I loved the first book, but this one is even better, if that is possible! I loved the Russian story line, couldn't wait to find out what had happened to Anya...
Poppy is brilliant as ever, and I was so glad to have all the old characters back, as well as a whole new set. Some of the characters were intriguing, and finding out the truth about them was such a surprise!
I had just started using virtualtrips, and their amazing guide at St Petersburg gave me extra information. How incredible to see the winter palace at the same time as this story, it gave it a wonderful extra dimension.
I loved the ending, so unexpected. I never thought it was going to end in that way, and it kept me gripped till the end.
Now, I wonder where Poppy will go next.

I absolutely loved the jazz files and so had to move on to the next book. I was wondering if this book would be as good as the first, I was not disappointed it was fantastic. I can’t wait to start the next one.
