The Inner Room - where submissive dreams become reality.
Dr. Marissa Roberts takes charge and saves lives by day but spends lonely nights embracing fantasies of erotic submission. When a close friend encourages her to explore her submissive longings, Marissa agrees to an evaluation to become a member of The Power Exchange, an exclusive local BDSM club. With that act, a door is opened to Marissa, and her longstanding fantasies may just become reality.
A powerful dominant and trainer at the club has no idea the prospective slave he will assess in The Inner Room will be the sub girl he has always craved. Sparks of desire ignite into flames of passion as he recognizes in Marissa the heart of a true submissive yearning for freedom, and she sees in him a Master who speaks directly to her soul.
However, their potential BDSM paradise is threatened by the unwanted attention of a twisted, arrogant bastard who refuses to take no for an answer from Marissa. His secret plans lead to terrifying results that threaten to destroy not only her career but the bonds of trust and love she has forged with her Master, tightly bound by The Inner Room.

It was an OK story
I like, and have read/listened to a lot of Claire Thompson's books. I really wanted to like this book, however, the story feel flat, Way flat! It was like Claire tossed a basic story plot on a page and called it done. -- This is also suppose to be a BDSM style story, however it was more of a "Rated PG" version of 50 Shades. -- As for the narrator. The narrator was BAD! A lot of the words were mispronounced, as well as there was no emotions or feelings in her narration. To be honest, Alexa could of done a better job.
I am a fan of Claire Thompson's books. This one I felt was only ok. I feel alot of that had to do with the narration. I did not enjoy this narrator at all, at least not for this material. she had little to no emotion and was to cold sounding for me to ever feel excitement for the characters or the story.
So much more than your average BDSM, I really enjoyed this "coming into your own" kind of self discovery story. It moved along nicely and kept my attention from start to finish.
My one irritation was that the narrator mispronounced a lot of words. A lot. Maybe not American? But it happened frequently enough to make me step back.
