About this listen

But what is a Snark? "Humpty Dumpty's theory, of two meanings packed into one word like a portmanteau, seems to me the right explanation for all."

There are points in this recording where you can't not hear what is being said... It does spoil the enjoyment significantly.

Poor Recording

Importantly a British accent from the mid 20th century. Well read. Doesn’t work with American accents (sorry; a bit disrespectful to Americans, but true).

Nice version.

Tremendous performance wasted by poor quality recording. The volume comes and goes, and the final three syllables of this epic poem are missing completely, but they manage to get in 'Audible hopes you've enjoyed...' at top volume.
Chapter titles, eg Fit the first, the Landing, are missing as are many verses from Fit the Fifth, and the whole of The Barrister's Dream from Fit the Sixth. This is not sold as abridged.
I have another version of the Snark bought from Audible years ago, and Karloff's performance is better; such a shame about the bits missing, and the poor technical quality.

Abridged Epic wasted by poor quality recording.
