A well researched, written and read piece... I was more informed at the end of the book than by all the documentaries I have watched in the History channel put together. The work also invokes intense emotions from the personal diaries of the dead, frustrations of fighting men in unbelievable harsh conditions of war and the politics of field commanders. Plus the fact of the true sacrifice crucial in winning the war by the Russian, Indian and African soldiers overshined by the American efforts. Excellent book.
