Summary

THE BRILLIANT SECOND BOOK IN THE BESTSELLING HILDUR SERIES, SOON TO BE A TV SHOW!

Detective Hildur Rúnarsdottir and her trainee Jakob are plagued by their own demons while working on the chilly west coast of Iceland: Hildur by the disappearance of her younger sisters twenty-five years ago and Jakob by a custody battle that has left him unable to see his son.

When a local politician is found shot dead on a ski trail, the two must put aside their personal problems to investigate the murder. While initially thought to be a crime of passion, there are much darker secrets hiding beneath the surface. Hildur and Jakob soon realise that even the dead can't stay buried forever.

A great follow on from the first book. Loved returning to Iceland. Engaging throughout with two stories running alongside eachother. Ending left me wanting more, can’t wait for the next release in October. Narration excellent

Love the description of landscape, and the Hildur plot twist

What an outstanding story

I listened to this story immediately after book one. Great character development and an interesting story which kept me hooked throughout. The lead characters are likeable, warm people which makes you root for them. I had a little difficulty following some of the names though. Narration is excellent and sounds authentic to my non-Icelandic ears.

Waiting for the next book

Perfectly paced. I like that one book gives into the next, and the longer story evolves too alongside the one in the book.

Really enjoying this series

This is an excellent series. Characters are very good and some most interesting insights to Iceland society and the country.

Hope there will be more to come
