As the engines roared to life, a sense of exhilaration mingled with trepidation washed over the crew of the starship Endurance. The departure from Earth had been meticulously planned, yet no amount of preparation could quell the gnawing anxiety that gripped them. They were leaving behind the familiar, the safe, and plunging into the abyss of the unknown. The mission was clear: explore the uncharted expanse of the Zeta Quadrant, but whispers of an ominous past enveloped their objective. They had heard the tales of vanished crews and derelict vessels, but those were merely stories, right? As they broke free from Earth's atmosphere, the blue orb receded into a swirling haze of clouds, and all they could do was hope their fate would not mirror those who had gone before them.
