About this listen

The First Phone Call from Heaven tells the story of a small town on Lake Michigan that gets worldwide attention when its citizens start receiving phone calls from the afterlife. Is it the greatest miracle ever or a massive hoax? Sully Harding, a grief-stricken single father, is determined to find out. An allegory about the power of belief -- and a page-turner that will touch your soul -- Albom's masterful storytelling has never been so moving and unexpected.

Readers of The Five People You Meet in Heaven will recognize the warmth and emotion so redolent of Albom's writing, and those who haven't yet enjoyed the power of his storytelling, will thrill at the discovery of one of the best-loved writers of our time.©2013 ASOP, Inc.

So glad I read this, it has made me think. So sorry it didn’t become a film. I rarely re-read books, but this one may well be a future re-read

This is a book I will remember and recommend

If you could sum up The First Phone Call From Heaven in three words, what would they be?

Intelligent, uplifting, predictable

If you’ve listened to books by Mitch Albom before, how does this one compare?

I absolutely loved " the five people you meet in heaven " and was expecting something as creative and charming, but have to admit I was a touch disappointed.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

" what would you say in a phone call from Heaven ?"

Any additional comments?

It's not a bad book, it's thought provoking and has a charm, but it's a little disappointing. I am glad I read ( listened to ) it, but much prefer " The Five People You Meet in Heaven " which is very moving.

Interesting and thought provoking

I loved this book. From the opening lines to the last, I was hooked. Beautifully written, and beautifully narrated.

Moving and Entertaining

Plat a wee bit obvious, but did have a twist too which was not so obvious

Not preachy or too mushy. Nice warm miracle can happen if you keep the child part of you inside.
