Critic reviews

Coben produces his usual mix of hard-boiled crime and wise-guy humour. There's something irrepressible about Bolitar . . . With Bolitar it's the mayhem rather than the murder that keeps the pages turning
Coben, as ever, takes us on a gritty pungent journey into some of the less savoury byways of human behaviour; a journey shot through with sardonic humour and trenchant observation
An outstanding success . . . This is a grand, rollicking read full of refreshing, new-style writing, snappy one-liners and clever repartee . . . In terms of plot, Coben cannot be faulted. You might fail to spot whodunit and, when all is revealed, feel genuine surprise and delight. If you read only one American novel this year make sure that it is this one

I just wanted to know if these six chapters were the whole story because in the manual storybooks it’s 40 chapters long

Really enjoyed this book with its twists and turns. I love this series and can’t wait to read the next book.

Great story

the story is not one of his best but still worth listening to. Lots of unfinished ends and a weak finish. Tim Machin didn't make the characters come alive for me, he failed to capture Wins menace and humour and the other characters sounded unconvincing. I'll avoid this narrator in future.

poor narrative

This HArlan Coben does not disappoint but is a little slower than Caught.
A good read and keeps you interested to the end

The Final Detail: Myron Bolitar,

Slow moving weak plot, no real depth to the characters, no evidence of any great effort by the author to do rhe research to support his writing. if you write a book about a sports agency you need to know a bit about the business. go talk to someone in the game!!

Poor
