She promised not to tell. They made sure she couldn’t…

At her surprise 40th birthday party, Kate Granger feels like the luckiest woman in the world but just hours later her fifteen-year-old daughter, Caily, is found unconscious underneath a bridge when she should have been at school.

Now, Caily lies comatose in her hospital bed, and the police don’t believe it was an accident. As the investigation progresses, it soon becomes clear that not everyone in the family was where they claimed to be at the time of her fall.

Caily should be safe in hospital but not everyone wants her to wake up. Someone is desperate to protect the truth and it isn’t just Caily’s life that is in danger.

Because some secrets are worth killing for…

Good description. But too many strands and too many cast members . Also too long .But enjoyable even so.

wonderful story

Spoiler alert. This book reminds me of making a meal out of what you’ve got in the fridge. There’s a lot chucked in it. It’s got lies, misunderstandings, a terrible accident, loan sharks, violence, death threats, a hint of sexual abuse, suicide and more. It could have been great if the author had reined it in a bit. Less would’ve been more.
The narrator couldn’t do male voices who all sounded ridiculously deep voiced and the female voices were generally squeaky. The grandmother sounded like a panto witch.
Sorry but not for me.

Frustrating and irritating pot boiler

This book kept me on edge all the way through with it's emotive story of how intertwined even the simple lives, of ordinary people can affect that of those around them,

An intricate, a spaghetti of twists and turns.
