Wow, my mind is totally blown!
Anyone who puts Joe in a box of just a romance narrator/author will be eating their words after this.
Having admired Joe's work in the romance genre for a number of years, I have heard Joe pull off incredible performances in every book he has narrated.
I have always known Joe is magnificent at his craft, however, performing the great Edgar Allan Poe's short stories and poems Mr Arden gives us a masterclass in the dark, chilling and crazy sides to his usually velvety voice.
Such an emotive and passionate performance that gave me chills, goosebumps and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. I honestly don't think anyone could do Poe's work justice quite like Mr Arden.
Absolutely outstanding! This is a must add to the library for any Joe or Poe fan, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you Joe, for bringing Poe's work to life.

Simply outstanding!

I grew up loving Poe's work, it's simply an outstanding masterpiece of a catalogue. I have listened to nearly 350 Joe Arden titles and had high expectations for this piece.
I was disappointed. Some stories I couldn't even finish. The narration was disjointed for me and did not properly convey the poems and short stories, instead it was a distraction.
I know he can deliver quality narration of any genre, however for me this missed the target.

I wanted to love it.

This is my first time knowing of this book. I enjoyed listening to the poems more then the short stories, which surprised me as I’m more of stories type of reader. I think if I had the physical copy in front of me and followed along with Joe, I would have understood more and listened more intently. Nothing against Joe’s voice it’s just the language the way it’s written. It really does remind me of F.Scott Fitzgerald short stories.
However, Joe’s voice is great to listen too, I like how his pitch goes a notch higher during the intense scenes in the book.
Joe’s pretty great.

Pretty good stuff
