Summary

Two sisters, one nightmare.

The last thing they wanted to do was spend time with each other. Now their very survival depends on it.

Forced from their home and thrown into an apocalyptic horror neither could have imagined, they didn’t think things could get any worse. They were wrong.

As they navigate the city to escape to safety, terror lurks for them on every corner. The reanimating virus has taken away everything they loved, but today, they’re going to start fighting back.

Living or dead, everyone is a threat. The rules have changed and for these two, time is running out. What will they do to survive? What will they do for each other? Is being family reason enough to stay together? Now, they’re about to find out.

great book

a great book, which works really well as audible , the pace of the story moves at a nice speed and is not overload with tons of characters which can get confusing in some audiobooks

Refreshing zompoc

I really enjoyed listening to this book CHRISTOPHER Artinian obviously grew up with sisters as his portrayal was almost spot on for sibling rivalry at the beginning of the book. I am looking forward to the rest of this series.

Great Zombie snark

The story starts hours after the event that sparks the zombie apocalypse, and the sisters are still in shock, Christopher Artinian describes their rivaly was so expertly I couldn't imagine them managing to leave the house together, more likely to kill each other before the zombies even had a chance. Their snarky interaction was hilarious, and their first excursions nail biting, and the reality that zombies are not the only threat.
I can't wait to find out what happens to the girls next, I definately need the next book in the series!

Great first book in series

I have read the series on Kindle and enjoyed so much that I have now tried it on audible. The story line is good and the narrator does a good job of bringing the two sisters to life. So much that I had forgotten after reading the books! I know what’s coming next but am really looking forward to listening to the next audible books!

An exiting new adventure

I enjoyed the book much more than I expected. I feared YA but got so, so much more. If you love the Safehaven books you'll be sure to love this series just as much.

Gripping!

My husband and I loved listening to Kim Bretton's narration of The End of Everything. Kim really brings the characters to life and we couldn't stop listening! We have already downloaded the next in the series and will be listening to more of Kim's narration in the future.

solid first entry

good first installment with great narration. I like the dynamic with the sisters, though the back and forth dialog can be a little cheesey at times. that doesn't take away from the good story and good characters, going to continue listening for sure.

Perfect for young girls that love the zombie genre

What other book might you compare this book to and why?
Hmm, maybe Surviving the Evacuation series. I'm in the US, so I'm not use to listening to apocalyptic books based anywhere else. So I'm finding this similar to Surviving the Evacuation because of location.

Who was your overall favorite character and why?
Wren. She's 15, extremely smart and an athlete.

Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
No one in particular. She did a fantastic job with all the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I practically did. I started it late at night, got all through it except the last hour, then finished that the next morning.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, unless they hate Young Adult. Having said that, I didn't realize it was a YA until after I started listening, which I usually dislike any and all YA, but I really enjoyed this one!

What did you love best about the book?
That Wren was so capable. I just loved her!

Which scene was your favorite?
When Wren whips that snot out of that older boy.

Which character did you like least? And why?
I've already forgotten his name, but the guy introduced at the end. He's definitely up to no good!

Any additional comments?
The author must have teenage daughters of his own because he nailed the teenage girl attitude perfectly! You've got a 15 year old that's smart, athletic and common sense bursting from the seams. Then you've got her 17 year old sister that's into fashion, cell phones, boys, she even puts on makeup after the zombie outbreak. Put these 2 girls together and they'll fight like cats and dogs. But it was so sweet to watch them bond as Robyn matured and accepted that her little sister was way better at all of this than her.

Sisters take on zombies

The End of Everything is a zombie apocalyptic book set in Scotland about two sisters. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed hearing the accent with the story. These two sisters have the typical love/hate relationship most siblings do. I really liked the strength and vulnerability of these two teens. The power they have is pretty realistic in how they deal with everything including each other. The way others the girls encounter are more realistic than some other stories which cool. I received the story for free and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

The end of everything

I loved this book and I can't wait to get book 2! While packing for a family trip to avoid an illness that is turning people feral,it hits and 2 sisters have to learn to survive...if they don't kill each other first.I believe the YA crowd will eat this up,but I like it too. Kim Bretton was an excellent narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'
