The Emotional Resilience Toolkit for Parents by Deana Rush Davis is a proper sound listen. It’s clear, kind, and full of dead useful tips you can actually use when things kick off.
It explains how stress messes with your reactions, then gives you simple tools to help in the moment. The seven reset strategies were boss — helped me take a breather before sayin somethin I’d regret. The apology scripts and connection checklists made tough moments feel fixable, not like the end of the world.
I liked the bits on self compassion and how it includes blended and neurodiverse families too. Some parts could do with more step by step detail, but the calm tone and solid structure make it feel doable day to day.
It’s not about bein perfect..... just makin progress and keepin the family vibes steady.

What I liked most is that it didn’t feel theoretical, it focused on real moments when emotions run high. I tried a few of the techniques during stressful situations and noticed I paused more instead of reacting right away.
