When Cissie Brody was 15, fever swept the English countryside, killing her parents and leaving her to care for her nine younger siblings. Well narrated. An excellent story as are all of Catherine Cookson’s novels. The narrator is very important to my listening and Ann Dover does this well.

I’ve enjoyed this story since I was young and a narrator certainly makes or breaks an audiobook, this narrator is excellent with a nice timing and with different voices for different characters, but not overdone. Really enjoyed it.
