About this listen

The Divine Conspiracy has revolutionized how we think about the true meaning of discipleship. In this classic, one of the most brilliant Christian thinkers of our times and author of the acclaimed The Spirit of Disciplines, Dallas Willard, skillfully weaves together biblical teaching, popular culture, science, scholarship, and spiritual practice, revealing what it means to "apprentice" ourselves to Jesus. Using Jesus’s Sermon of the Mount as his foundation, Willard masterfully explores life-changing ways to experience and be guided by God on a daily basis, resulting in a more authentic and dynamic faith.

I decided to listen to this again having purchased it some years ago. I understood it more this time but it is still largely mysterious. Some deep spiritual things explored here but it’s a bit too much for me! I prefer Tom Wright’s Surprised by Hope. Similar content and spiritually powerful stuff, but a more straight forward written style.

This is complicated

This is an excellent book for Spiritual Formation and will cause it's readers a great deal of introspection, reflection, reality checking and communion with God in confession and repentance. It give a clarion call to being true discipleship which is itself true Christianity. I love the way Dallas Willard uses no nonsense langue to get his points across calling us the apprentices of Jesus.

There were points when reading this when I just had to stop and pray.

The thrust of the book, that we live in a Trinitarian, supernatural universe and that truth of reality is far greater than the presuppositions of naturalism and materialism holding that God is real and the spiritual and physical world are just as real as each other is a much needed message today.

The conclusion to the book which looks to the end of God's divine conspiracy or plan, which includes a redeemed humanity and the universe he created is full of hope and refreshes the eyes of the soul

A worthy... difficult in places, but worthwhile read... the kind of book that I'm sure to read again.

This book will break you... if you allow it

I love this book & will recommend it for everyone especially pastors or teachers of the word in order to help believers come to the understanding of their right standing with God & the authority they have in Christ. Knowing that Christ is the logos who maintain & manipulate the ultimate laws of the physical universe.

Divine conspiracy.

I'm probably going to have to listen to this again and take notes... This is packed with wisdom and offers a considered and well thought out reason for practiced Christianity that touches the soul.

One of the most important books I've ever read
