Summary

What is life for Gogglebox's Giles and Mary outside the willow-patterned cocoon?

Giles is a countryman who relishes solitude. His wife, Mary, thrives in company and enjoys frequent escapes to London.

After 30 years in a marriage of opposites, Giles and Mary have adapted to a life of domestic misunderstandings within comical misadventures.

In The Diary of Two Nobodies, you will have the unique opportunity to discover, first hand, what occurs when a man who sees himself as a cross between Mr Bean and Basil Fawlty shares his life with a woman who identifies closely with the Queen.

Accompanying this diary is a candid and amusing Audible Sessions interview with Giles and Mary, in which they discuss how they made it onto Gogglebox, what the most annoying things about each other are, and why 'nutty' is their go-to term of endearment.

Nutty

Warm, engaging and funny. A very rewarding read full of the subtle and not so subtle nuances of a marriage.

Comforting and informative.

Quirky, charming, funny and intelligent. Like having radio 4 on in the background.
I could have done without the advocation of sleep training, but that’s my issue.

Loved it!

I think Giles is my hero! Not to undermine Mary... her input is essential in Giles’s appeal. Thank you both!

Revealing and entertaining

I bought this very much as a casual light listen as Mary and Giles have been two of my favourite personalities on GB. I loved the honesty and playfulness of the content and hat translated into reality by their contrasting interesting narration styles. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.

excellent

Loved this reminded me of my own marriage .Giles has a lot of similar quirks to my own husband. I like Mary have a love of charity shops and am always rummaging in my bag unable to find things.
We also have been together for over thirty years and acknowledge we have many faults but love each other deeply.
My daughter recommend this to me as she said "They are just like you and dad."
Thank you for such a lovely light hearted read at this time .
Giles let Mary have the dog you know you will back down in the end.
