Summary

A curse, a ghost, and a painting that goes bump in the night might just be the key to their perfect romance.

Madeline knows firsthand that life rarely goes according to plan. If it did, her husband would still be alive, Scotland wouldn’t be her home, and she wouldn’t be living in the 17th century. Hardened by grief and broken dreams, Madeline hopes that a new life for her and her daughter might be enough to pull her from her years’ long rut. Despite her best efforts in a new century, little changes. As the months pass, her wish for a happier tomorrow seems unlikely to come true. But when a newcomer with ties to the castle arrives in the village, Madeline’s interest is piqued for the first time in years as she discovers maybe there’s more reason to be hopeful than she originally thought.

Expert stone mason Duncan never dreamed that accepting a seemingly harmless painting in exchange for his work would lead to such trouble. But after nights of no sleep make it clear that his new possession is indeed haunted, Duncan sets out to return the wretched piece of art back to its home at McMillan Castle. Determined only to rid himself of the art, Duncan’s plans are derailed when he meets a lass so bonny he finds himself eager to accept work that will keep him at McMillan Castle longer than planned. As time passes and his feelings grow, Duncan discovers that perhaps his home is no longer the place he left behind.

Is their love strong enough for the two of them to overcome their baggage? Or will the story end with the curse that brought them together?

McMillan Castle - Audible Review

It was a great story and I enjoyed being able to listen to it as worked. The characters came to life as I listened. It was hard to put down. Looking forward to the next episode in this series and the audible that goes with it.

Haunted Novella

I am a fan of all the Morna matchmaking stories and this one doesn’t disappoint. It’s a quick novella with a spooky vibe. The author, Bethany Claire, brings the characters to life and I feel like I have gotten to know them through each of the books. I look forward to when new books are released because it feels like I am there in the story. I The audio version is great. The narrator does an excellent job with the characters and accents. I highly recommend this novella even if you haven’t read the prior books in the series.

Morna’s Legacy - Madeline and Duncan

I have loved every single one of Bethany Claire’s, Morna’s Legacy books.
I have all the audiobooks and love listening along with Lily, the narrator.

Bethany draws me in with her beautiful stories filled with love, magic and time travel.
Each book includes characters from previous stories, so at times you get to catch up with them along their journeys.

Oh and can’t forget Morna and her well meaning meddling.
This is Madeline and Duncan’s story and it is well worth a listen to or read.

I absolutely love this series

It’s been too long since I’ve had a new Morna story. This one held my interest and didn’t disappoint. McMillan castle is being haunted and Moran is called in to help. My only complaint is that I didn’t want it to end.
Even if you haven’t read the previous books this one will draw you in and you will be hooked.

A little Spook for Halloween

Such a great quick story. I love that the author does these little novellas for some holiday fun. It has just a little spookiness to go along with the romance of a newer character, while brining back an “older” one!

Can’t get enough of Bethany’s books!

Bethany’s creative imagination makes her books so much fun! And, Lily’s performances are the perfect addition to bring her books to life. Being a Novella makes for a quick entertaining listen. And, each book introduces new, interesting, and romantic characters. Highly recommend this one!!!
