Summary

A charismatic Cuban, Alberto Mistro, offers five middle-aged couples an all-expenses paid holiday. Too good to be true? Of course!

The Mistro family has a secret past, and the holiday makers find themselves in a race against time. They are required to solve a 600-year-old puzzle. If they succeed, they get to go home. If they fail...well, let’s just say, failure isn’t an option.

Different but enjoyable

I like M K Turner's style of writing and I have listened to all of the Meredith and Hodge series (which are highly recommended). This one is quite different from those which was refreshing and was more easy listening. Lee Beddow is an awesome narrator but some of the accents in this book proved to be a challenge. I did enjoy the book and all of its different characters. Worth a listen for sure.

Different and enjoyable

A difficult one for the narrator this, so many accents and both Male and female characters. Interesting story line, different to M K Turner's usual. Most enjoyable.

treasure and complications

What a rag tag group of people! The drama, danger, laughter, and infidelity were astounding. I'm hoping the infidelity is discovered and dealt with in the next book, because I'm not a fan of liars.I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Enjoyed

This is another mystery that keeps you on your toes. MK Turner hasn't written a book I haven't liked. Lee does a good job with the narration. Keep up the great work! This book was a pleasure to listen to and I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review.

Mayhem in paradise

Free trip? Beware, some things are too good to be true!

Lee Beddow brings the characters to life with his narrating.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Wow... these folks are hauntingly amusing

MK Turner had done it again. I am pretty sure at this point she would be unable to write a book I wouldn't like. The Cuban Conundrum is definitely a shift for her other books. That being said, Lee Beddow does an excellent job, with his narration, of binging this cast of unique and amusing characters to life in such way that the journey is all consuming. From the opening pages this book just gets more intense and yet the thread of humor that runs throughout is part of the true appeal of this novel. It is almost like misfits return for more vacation. This group of folks is almost unbelievable in their interactions as they lack filters so I was not sure from one moment to the next whether I was going to laugh, scream or silently hope they would be successful in making it to the next sentence in one piece. If you want to know what the book is about the blurb is good. I am not up for offering you much except that this was a refreshing and angsty book all in one. If you are an MK fan grab this...if you are not yet a fan..grab it and take a listen...then you can leave your review of this awesome read. MK Turner gave me an ARC of this audio book. I chose to leave this review in gratitude for her willingness to share her work. This is definitely a book I will listen to again.

Fantastic story!

This is an awesome mystery tale that keeps you very interested throughout. Other than the narrator mispronouncing senor and senora, I could not find any flaws in his performance.
