About this listen

LLIAM, which groceries should I buy?
LLIAM, should I apply for that promotion?
LLIAM, should I kill my wife?

LLIAM's AI-generated answers power society - but today, he went offline. Stocks fell, stores shuttered, planes were grounded. And Kaitlan Goss, CEO of LLIAM's parent company StoicAI, has to fix it.

Then the letters arrive: identical white envelopes on every continent, containing people's darkest secrets - affairs, family secrets, even murders. As people worldwide begin to confront their loved ones' worst transgressions, Kaitlan races to find Maud Brookes, the ex-nun who taught LLIAM what it means to be human. Only Maud can bring LLIAM back online, and stem the tide of societal breakdown.

But Maud doesn't want to be found. She received a confession letter, too - about Kaitlan.

Now the two women are forced into a deadly game of cat and mouse, while the whole world teeters on the brink of collapse.

LLIAM, how do I save the world?

Really enjoyed the story - the whole idea of what AI could become. Annoying ending - so many threads left open! It’s as if the author just fell asleep before finishing.

Fascinating idea

The premise of this book is great and this should have been a gripping exploration of the use or misuse of AI and the dangers of reliance on this new technology. It isn't. It is a truly dreadful, formulaic and very predictable poorly told story. Keep your money and stay away. I bought this because it was recommended by the Guardian, I will not take their recommendations lightly again. So disappointed.

Truly awful, save your money.

Came to this on the back of a Guardian review. Terrible plot that lacked plausability, terrible audio narrator who sounded on the verge of tears for most of the book, terrible character names (Simon Price, really?). If you like Dan Brown, you'll probably still hate this, and that's saying something.

A chore.
