Perhaps with a different voice actor …

Much as I wanted to enjoy this (and I did; I kept dropping the story but curiosity kept reeling me back in) I found the narrator’s voice jarring. It is entirely possible that the voice actor’s performance was intended to be exactly that but I felt that the listening experience was not as engrossing as it could have been due to this passive monotone.
