A really good listen

First time I have listened to multiple narrated audio book and I think in this instance it actually made it so much more enjoyable. A really good story with a couple of twists. Would recommend it and will look out for others by this author.

Fabulous twisted tale luxurious escapist setting!

This book is idea for those who are missing their holidays in lockdown as it takes you away on a fabulous luxury Ski holiday. I loved it and it has been a long time since I found an audiobook which made me really look forward to bedtime when I listen mainly. It had lots of clever twists and shockers but nothing too dark, gory or disturbing - plus no fears for animal lovers as no animals in danger or harmed which is why I returned my last book when a puppy was introduced to the deadly mix. So 100% gripping read with plenty of dastardly deeds and deadly intentions, switches, reveals, twists and turns - lovely holiday setting - gets your mind working plus it ends with the perfect set up for a sequel - hoping the next one may have a beach instead of ski setting!

Great winter read

An enjoyable thriller, well narrated. The physical environment contributed the the slightly cosy thriller genre of a good Agatha Christie story. The story moved backwards and forward in well balanced way building up the tension. Highly recommended.

Claustriphobic, twisty

First, this book was really well narrated by the cast. They all did a brilliant job. A growing feeling of claustrophobia, suspense and towards its dramatic climax. I guessed re rea early on, but the twist with Milly and everything that involves I didn't see coming. I didn't lie Hugo, he came across as controlling towards Rea to me almost putting his business before his wife. If my husband was like that I'd leave him! I could almost feel the ice through the pages at times. I finished it in a day. I highly recommend this book.

Something makes this not very suitable for audible!

The story overall was good and the nearest thing I’ll get to skiing this year 2020/21 However, something doesn’t quite fit with being read out and voices given to characters. Never mind, it won’t become apparent until the end, and hopefully you will have enjoyed the book.

Excellent Escape to the Chalet

When I saw this I knew it would be right up my street. Snow bound in a chalet with everyone's secrets unraveling, some old revenge and new revelations while blizzard rages is a perfect way to spend the weekend. Not especially likable characters and a few things didn't ring quite true and felt a bit awkward but didn't dampen my enjoyment one iota! Excellent narration but could have probably been half the amount of narrators without any compromise. Overall I couldn't stop listening it was a perfect storm.

Surprisingly enjoyable

I wasn't expecting much but I really enjoyed this book, especially the narration which was excellent! I like Catherine Cooper's writing style and will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books. Although the story seems quite 'light' to start there are lots of characters who all have their own interesting stories to share. Nothing complicated, but definitely kept me listening and I was sorry when it finished.
