Fabulous twisted tale luxurious escapist setting!

This book is idea for those who are missing their holidays in lockdown as it takes you away on a fabulous luxury Ski holiday.
I loved it and it has been a long time since I found an audiobook which made me really look forward to bedtime when I listen mainly.

It had lots of clever twists and shockers but nothing too dark, gory or disturbing - plus no fears for animal lovers as no animals in danger or harmed which is why I returned my last book when a puppy was introduced to the deadly mix.

So 100% gripping read with plenty of dastardly deeds and deadly intentions, switches, reveals, twists and turns - lovely holiday setting - gets your mind working plus it ends with the perfect set up for a sequel - hoping the next one may have a beach instead of ski setting!

Great escapism couldn’t put it down (so to speak)

A great story with great narration. Kept me guessing throughout. It’s never going to be studied for GCSE English but it kept me fully absorbed for a few hours.

Gripping and completely believable

Beautiful descriptions of the high life in a luxurious chalet in the Alps.
With several twists.
Great voices too- I just couldn’t stop listening to it!

A really good listen

First time I have listened to multiple narrated audio book and I think in this instance it actually made it so much more enjoyable. A really good story with a couple of twists. Would recommend it and will look out for others by this author.

Excellent Escape to the Chalet

When I saw this I knew it would be right up my street. Snow bound in a chalet with everyone's secrets unraveling, some old revenge and new revelations while blizzard rages is a perfect way to spend the weekend. Not especially likable characters and a few things didn't ring quite true and felt a bit awkward but didn't dampen my enjoyment one iota! Excellent narration but could have probably been half the amount of narrators without any compromise. Overall I couldn't stop listening it was a perfect storm.

So much fun

If you want a wintry mystery/thriller that'll keep you gripped from the start, you've found it. It feels like a beach read - but for winter - with a strong cast of well-drawn characters and a compelling plot. It's the perfect read when you feel like your brain needs an injection of fun.

Loved it!

Never read anything by this author before but will defiantly be buying more...the narrators were great, some of the witticisms and little one-liners really made me laugh, I really cared about the main characters. In short I found it to be a fun, engrossing story.

Disappointing

Started off well but far too many coincidences and irritating narration. The word mamma particularly so!

I couldn’t finish it

After a couple of hours I realized that there was no character in the story that I could respect or identify with.I had to return the book Unfinished.

Surprisingly enjoyable

I wasn't expecting much but I really enjoyed this book, especially the narration which was excellent! I like Catherine Cooper's writing style and will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books. Although the story seems quite 'light' to start there are lots of characters who all have their own interesting stories to share. Nothing complicated, but definitely kept me listening and I was sorry when it finished.
