Enjoyable - but with reservations

A good story - although not on a par with the Barchester Chronicles or Palliser Novels. Sadly, Flo Gibson's reading detracted from my enjoyment. In my opinion she was not a good choice of reader for a Trollope novel. The accent was wrong and much of the humour was lost. I would love to have heard the book read by Timothy West.

Hazel Shropshire

I can only agree with the above review.A good book spoilt by the narrater whose monotonous tone and lack of characterisation did not make the story come alive to the listener.

Wonderful story

Very focussed story, extraordinarily perceptive and witty. I have read about 20 of the novels including both series, this is one of my absolute favourites. Yes Ms Gibson is not as wonderful as Timothy West, but she reads crisply.

worth reading

If you like Trollope read this. Reading not of standard of excellent Timothy West but good effort and story highly enjoyable.
