Story
In an area of Pennsylvania called The Big Valley, a uniquely blended Amish community thrives in which three distinct groups of Amish identify themselves by the colors of their buggies' tops - white, black, or yellow. Join New York Times best-selling author Wanda E. Brunstetter, her daughter-in-law, and her granddaughter in experiencing the stories of three young women who search for faith and love within this special place.
Summary
In the first in an engaging new series, an Amish quiltmaker moves from Pennsylvania to a new settlement in Colorado, where adventure, challenges, and love are waiting....
Esther Zook is starting over after her father's death, piecing together a new life with as much care as she puts into her intricate quilts. When her wayward sister abandons her baby, it throws all those plans for a fresh start asunder. Esther had accepted her status as an old maid - but a mother? And a single one, at that? Not that she hasn't noticed Levi Kiem, the eligible young man who's making repairs in her house. Yet he surely has no interest in Esther as anything other than a friend....
It's true that Levi has plenty of marriage prospects. His dat has even offered to send him to Ohio to find a wife. Yet the more time he spends with Esther, the more intrigued he becomes. Feisty and independent, she's nothing like the wife he once imagined for himself. Yet just as a quilt is crafted from contrasting cloth, they might find that together, they can create a family to cherish....

The narrator is awful. Her voice is annoying- she over emphasizes at the end of each sentence. The story seems to be great , but the narrator makes it impossible to continue.

Annoying voice
Sorry, but the narrator’s voice was too “sing-songy” - her pitch was high and low - as if she were trying too hard. I ended up ignoring it during long stretches, but whenever I came back ti the book, it was a disappointing fact distraction all over again. In addition, she gave the main character’s speech an Irish accent (but she’s Amish, not Irish) in her dialogue.
The story was great fun, and I don’t mean to be critical., but you guys ask for feedback, so there you have it.
