About this listen

Passion and danger collide in a breathtaking story from New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer

Saved from an abduction and unthinkable harm, Gabrielle Bennett owed her life to her rescuer. Marc Stephano, a stranger from the sketchy shadows of town, could've asked for money. Instead, he introduced her to desire and claimed her completely - then he broke her heart.

Older, wiser and now a top New York model, Gabrielle is prepared for anything - except Marc's reemergence into her life. It's a merciless trick of fate. A successful, self-made millionaire, he's as powerful as ever. And he wants her. Forgive and forget don't apply when heartbreak is at stake. Yet the attraction between them refuses to back down.

The choice is hers: hurt Marc in the name of revenge, or give in to love.

This is an OLD book newly released on audio. When you listen to it there are clues that its from the 80's or so.

The story overall is pure Palmer of old, with overly macho hero and very female but strong minded heroine. These elements setup for lots of miscommunication and jumping to the wrong conclusion until events manage to put the 2 leads in a situation where things have to be talked out.

This is a romance but in true Palmer style the intimacy is there but blurred somewhat with language that stays out of using crudeness.

Overall this was an enjoyable listen and a nice toss back to old Palmer.

The narrator has done several of her books but still makes all the heroines sound the same. His voice is OK to the ear and not jarring.

Enjoy

Old school Palmer

Not sure what era this is supposed to be set in but it has every cliche from a dodgy Hollywood gangster B movie. Complete will one dimensional characters, stilted dialogue and completely unbelievable plot. Time to hang up your pen DP.
