About this listen

'Beth Moran's heartwarming books never fail to leave me feeling uplifted' Jessica Redland

Meet Patrick Cooper– desperately down on his luck, and head-over-heels in unrequited love with his best friend Bridget.

Meet Bridget's sister, Emma Donovan -eternally single maker-of-cakes for many a happy couple, whilst never making it down the aisle herself.

Emma has four younger sisters, all of whom are married or getting married, and an Italian mother who can’t understand what is ‘wrong’ with her eldest daughter, who seems to be stranded on the shelf. Despairing of her own ability to find a suitable husband, Emma agrees to be part of a compatibility project to get married at first sight.

Meanwhile Cooper is struggling to get over his crush on Bridget and seems destined to stay firmly on the shelf too. Perhaps it’s time his fate was taken out of his hands…

Is happily-ever-after just about daring to take a chance, or do you need some extra magic to make love last?

Join Number One bestselling author Beth Moran, Cooper and the Donovan sisters on this life-affirming and uplifting tale of love, family, friendship, and risking it all for happiness.

An easy listen that did provide humour but the storyline was predictable and there were too many sisters to keep track of, I found myself really having to think about who was who throughout the book. But being from Nottingham I did enjoy the references. Didn’t like the narrators accents at all with the Mum almost sounding Jamaican in parts. It was ok but glad I didn’t spend a credit on it or I would have been disappointed.

Its an easy listen

I love Beth’s books but this is the first time I’ve listened to one. As with all her other books it’s funny, compelling and you just can’t stop listening.
But I nearly stopped and thought of getting the actual book as the performance really put me off! All the different accents some far too strong to understand oh dear.

But that’s just my experience see what you think.

Great Book but bad performance in my view.

I wasn't sure about your typical bit meets girl romance but the twists and turns here did make me question how it would wrap up. Really enjoyed it.

unusual and enjoyable

This is the first time I have read a book centred around M.E. I was dealt with in a sensitive loving way. I have a couple of friends with this debilitating disease.
It also deals with depression, and low self esteem. With lot’s of fun and laughter, in such a way, that you are not weighed down, with the dark side. It is a sweet good hearted read without being sickly sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And highly recommend it.
Despite a few slips in accents, the narrator was very good.

Lighthearted romance with a twist

As a 25+ year sufferer of ME/CFS I can’t tell you how amazing it felt to read my illness so accurately described in a novel. I can’t thank Beth Moran enough for this, the exposure and hopefully understanding this will bring to our often very misunderstood and overlooked condition means the world. My only complaint would be that I am really disappointed that this isn’t the first book in a series about the Donovan sisters as I loved the characters so much and was itching to know what was next for them!

Brilliant story, thanks for highlighting ME. PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES!!!
