Most relevant
I have thoroughly enjoyed books 1 to 3 but book 4 was ruined by the narrator. The accents he did for all the characters I had come to know through the other books was so bad i nearly packed it in within the first 10 chapters. The accents were so different it was hard to identify Tozzer as Cornish. The change in narrator really ruined the story for me but it was also the characters that seemed to change as well especially Tozer. I can see this series continuing with Breen in a new role but not sure I will be waiting for it or rushing to get it. So, so disappointed.

The usual gently compelling story with well drawn characters and satisfying storylines marred by a narrator whose grasp on accents varies from poor to dire. Never have so many English men sounded so Australian! The main protagonist is Irish, or English, or a bit Welsh...
The original narrator was much better

The change of narrator was a mistake

Did not like the narrator Roger Davis as he gave Bream a bit of an irish accent and yet he had never been to Ireland. Much preferred Cameron Stewart in the first books.

Story is good but the narrator has no idea of accents or previous books. It certainly made the listen hard work compared to the first three books.

This narrator wasn't as competent as the one who read the previous books - dodgy Irish and West Country accents!
