Summary

I don't like to be touched. I'm the hacker-geek-goddess of the FBI. When I'm hiding behind my screen, I'm a safe distance from everyone; isolated, powerful. No man has ever touched me, but when I'm captured by Colombian drug lord Andrés Moreno, I no longer have the right to refuse. He's scarred and scary, and his cruel brother Cristian has tasked him with breaking me. I try to fight, but I can't escape his strong arms and harsh discipline. He demands that I accept his touch, and my virgin body can't help but respond to his masterful manipulations.

The longer I remain trapped with him, the more I come to suspect that I'm not the only captive in his brother's home. Andrés' scars go deeper than the wicked furrows carved into his flesh, his pain reflected in the dark demands he imposes upon me. His obsession is twisted and wrong, but maybe I'm twisted, too.

Do I want to be rescued from him? Or is he the one who truly needs saving?

Includes My Sweet Captive, a bonus story told from the perspective of Andrés. Performed by Joe Arden.

Taboo but not to dark

I really enjoyed this Audio. This is a new narrator to me and it took me a moment to get used to her voice. She has quite a purr to her voice that I’m not used to hearing. I do believe she did a good job, she pulled off the scared and terrified aspects of the character as well as the strong and fierce ones. The story was well written. Definitely a sexy, taboo, kidnapping but still find love story. I liked how the author worked in aspects from Samantha‘s childhood they gave the story more depth. It was hot but I do not feel it was a dark romance. If you like the kinky and taboo but can’t handle the dark this is a great audio. It does not cross lines although they are mentioned in the story that I consider to be in the category of dark. The bonus story was perfect. I love the narrator who performed Andrés. The accent brought the character even more to life for me. I almost wish the whole book was dual narration. Both narrators have very sexy voices. I look forward to hearing more from this author.

Holy hotness

This book has a lot of hot sex scenes and the story is good. I do wish the author had made the story longer and had more action scenes with Samantha and andres brother present. I also wished the author showed more of Samantha’s skill set. All in all if you are looking for a hot romance this book is it!

Dissapointing

I hate stories about women who are supposedly smart but equally dumb. I like a good captor and prisoner story but not when the prisoner gives into sexual satisfaction in 1 day. Sexual release does not cloud ones judgement that much that quickly. It's absurd. I understand the woman maybe being forced to experience pleasure but that should in no way impede her judgement. This was not good, sorry.

all sex no story

I was disappointed that Joe Arden didn't read until bonus feature at the end. Aside from that, this had a lot of sex and BDSM and little to no story line. If you are looking for a nice romance story, this isn't it.

NOT sweet. VERY dark.

You get two stories here: SWEET CAPTIVITY which is a full length novel told entirely from the heroine’s point of view and narrated by Lucy Rivers. You ALSO get the bonus novella, MY SWEET CAPTIVE, told entirely from the hero, Andres’, point of view narrated by Joe Arden. On Amazon, you can purchase the 2 stories separately. In the Audible version, you get them together under one title.

SWEET CAPTIVITY narrated by Lucy Rivers:

This novel made me uncomfortable. There is nothing sweet about it. The heroine, Sam, is a newbie FBI Field Agent (but has been in the FBI for some time prior as a “hacker geek” agent). She is kidnapped and subjected to terror and sexual initiation at the hands of a Colombian criminal, Andres. She is leashed, and sexually objectified and humiliated. I did not like any sex element of the story.

Narrator Lucy Rivers is wonderful. She performs all the voices including the Colombian criminal brothers, one of whom is Andres. I thought her accents and voice characterisations were great. But I was torn. The way she spoke was erotic, but at the same time, my skin crawled because of this: I just can’t connect with the Stockholm Syndrome-style ‘love’ story as it is fundamentally not love to me, but a psychological survival mechanism. It’s a style of story I’ll avoid in future. Way too dark for me. However, I know other readers love this style of story.

If you like the mind-twisting darkness of such stories, you will love this. There is a twist to this story which should have made me sympathise with Andres more, but by the time the information was revealed I was past caring for him. I think the information should have come sooner. More forgiving readers will see Andres as a tortured, protective and loving hero.

MY SWEET CAPTIVE narrated by Joe Arden:

This appears as the last chapter and goes for almost 57 minutes.

Andres describes the early stages of Sam’s kidnap and captivity from his point of view. We know how it ends because we hear the whole story in SWEET CAPTIVITY.

It’s good to get some of Andres’ point of view. However, I think the information from this novella could have been sprinkled through the main novel and would have enhanced my sympathy for Andres. It might have made the main story more palatable for me.

Joe Arden’s narration is excellent. He performs with a convincing Colombian accent.

A little taboo yet a good love story

I really enjoyed the taboo/love story! It’s not as dark as I previously thought. Joe Arden did a GREAT job with Andrés accent but it was an adjustment getting used to the female narrator. She has a purr to her voice that’s a little difficult to get use to but once I got over that it was fine. Definitely worth the credit or $$.

Couldn't get into it

The story moves way to fast, you don't get a feel of the characters or who they from the beginning. The whole 'in her head' is not my thing, I don't want to sit there and listen to the rambling thoughts of a woman during an entire book. That's what this is.

Narration - it's all the chick, the guy NEVER narrates. So don't be fooled. Also what's her deal with the male accent, she's using a european/russian accent instead of a spanish accent. This annoyed me more than I thought it would.

I stopped at 3 hours in and returned book.

A very good book!

I really wanted to know what Andres was thinking. However, at the end of this book was a preview of the next book. I'm looking forward to finding the answers to my questions.

Dark and forbidden

This story was a bit to dark. How a person perception of someone can change the very fiber of your being , soul, and happiness. I did enjoy listening to it. It has a few surprises in it. I would have like a different narrator, with that being said it was a good read.
