Summary

When it comes to women, I know what they want. And all day long, I give it to them. Dark, broody, and sexy? You got it. Need to laugh? I'm your guy. Desperate for something to put you in the mood? You've come to the right place, kitten.

Every morning when my library opens, there's a line around the block, the ladies flocking to me in need of their next book boyfriend. I'm that dude. The one who knows his way around the romance section. And if you think that hasn't gotten me plenty of action over the years, you'd be wrong.

But I made a slight miscalculation at work, and now my reputation has my job in danger. If I can't prove to my boss that I'm more than a playboy who recommends romance in the hopes of getting some hanky panky in the stacks, I'm headed for the unemployment line.

Enter Parker Elliott. She rocks a mean guitar, she has no idea how sexy she is, and she's in need of a temporary fake boyfriend. Best of all? She doesn't have a library card. I couldn't have found a better fake fiancee if I'd written her myself.

Contains mature themes.

Marvellous !!

Knox and Parker are just Hilarious,Super sexy and adorable.
What begins as a fake relationship that would benefit them both in different ways, turns into a steamy affair.
These Two are great together, they have amazing chemistry,But besides their sexual compatibility they become good friends to.
There is so much going on in this story it is a rollercoaster of Love,Romance and comedy... Which is a perfect combination.
The banter and smart dialogue Made me laugh out loud,Pippa Grant is a genius with this her words they are always so witty and her stories are just mesmerising.
The Narration by Joe Arden and Karen White...is utterly all consuming they did a phenomenal job bringing Knox and Parker to life...and left my ears totally satisfied with their smooth brilliant voices.
I enjoyed EVERYTHING about this Audiobook and I highly recommend it

A 5⭐ fake fiance romcom

I really enjoyed this story because Parker's personality and quirkiness drew Knox to her so that the chemistry between them was explosive 💕💕
The narrators did an amazing job of bringing all the characters to life and I highly recommend this story

✫✫ 3.5 Stars ✫✫

This is a cute and sometimes silly story. The best thing about this book for me was Knox, he was witty, self assured and a little cocky but not in a bad way. He made me laugh a few times for sure. The story line was fun even if the base details weren't overly original. I think I could have loved this book if Parker was a completely different women. She was this books downfall for me. I'll be honest, there really wasn't anything about her characters that I actually connected with and/or enjoyed. She might be the most insecure women ever, especially one with 2 masters degrees and so driven by a career. She was a complete conundrum for me, how can someone with so much education still be so insecure and immature. I just couldn't wrap my head around her character even in the end. That's not to say others may not love her, I just have a love for strong female characters and she wasn't that.

The narration was 50/50 also for me. I like Joe Arden even if I feel like he made Knox cockier than he would have seemed if I had read this book LOL. But Karen White is not my favorite narrator, maybe her narration made me like Parker even less than I already would have. I'm not sure but I will say that her voice just didn't work for me.

Female narrator blew this for me

When I read this book last year I thought Parker and Knox were the best of Pippa Grant's couples. Reading it the story is fun and laughable to tears but the female narrator ruined this book. Every word was high pitched like at a climax which was annoying and hard to follow the story. I couldn't even finish which is really too bad because the story is cute and funny. Stick with the kindle version.

Great story but female narrator is terrible

I almost gave up the first few chapters bc her voice is terrible! I feel bad but it’s just awful. Joe kept me going and I’m so glad I did. Great story worth dealing w the narrator.

AWFUL female narrator

The female narrator ruined the audio book. The high pitched voice reading like she is in pain hurt my ears, I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Will have to read this one. Pity, the story line seems fun.

Heroine is irritating, female narrator is terrible

I am not sure which annoyed me more the terrible female narrator or the terrible lead female character. Even Knox, who was a great character couldn’t make up for the terrible narration of the female lead.

It was disappointing to have a book ruined by a heroine who has been written around a woman who is terribly insecure and ridiculously unable to function in everyday life. Constantly the angst in romance books centres around a females insecurities and ridiculous, flighty and over the top reaction to situations.

One day I just want to read about intelligent, capable, strong women, who listen rationally to what is being said.

I LOVED THE BOOK!!!!

I LOVED THE BOOK. However, Karen White's voice just doesn't work for me. I never thought of the heroine as whiney. Now I am scared for the rest of the series that I LOVE SOOOO MUCH. I tried changing the speed, to change the voice, but didn't work.
Please read this author. She/her writing is WONDERFUL.
Remember, this is MY opinion.

female narrator

Disclaimer: I'm ONLY 7 chapters in

That said I'm already struggling to continue because of the female narrator.

I get that the character is a nerd and is an anxious person but WTF... the narrator is yelling for the last few chapters and she just sounds annoying...

I'm trying to get passed these chapters in Hope's that the narrator will calm TF down if the character does.

Holy high-strung, Batman!

I almost stopped listening solely due to the female narrator. She might be decent if she spoke in her normal voice, but every time she was reading Parker's voice, she suddenly became high-strung, shrill, and ridiculously whiny. I absolutely couldn't imagine anyone begin turned on - let alone a sexy younger man - by a woman with this voice. I am usually forgiving of the performers voices, but I really just wanted to stop her and tell her to calm down, take a breath, and not act like everything was a crisis of epic proportions.

In opposition, I actively seek out books by Joe Arden. I very much enjoy him as a narrator.

The story was decent; what drove me crazy (other than the female narrator) is that there were many immature references. She constantly described things as "lemon" breasts, her "pink taco", and his "man meat". I get it in a humorous setting or situation, but not every time. Even in the sexier scenes, these and other similar euphemisms were used far too often.

Stud in the Stacks

I thought the story was cute. Not my favorite of her books but it was still really cute and my TBR just grew. Hahaha.
I love Joe Arden. I do not have anything bad to say about him at all!!!
Karen White is new to me and she kind of drove me nuts. She wasn't terrible but I don't think I could do another book by her. She tends to yell a lot. So just be warned. Like I said it wasn't terrible. She just was not my favorite.
