Summary

It was supposed to be one letter. One time....

Cassidy Thatcher has just been fired. In an attempt to salvage her life, she flees to New York City to rebuild her career. Desperate for hope, she passes her time writing love letters to her fiance in the US Navy, but the Big Apple has other plans.

Grayson Daniels has a brilliant mind but is not so brilliant when it comes to relationships. After being asked to assist the Navy with nuclear research, he finds himself aboard an aircraft carrier where he accidentally intercepts a letter not meant for him. Cassidy's words enthrall him...but what started as an innocent fascination soon becomes an uncontrollable desire.

When Grayson learns of Cassidy's financial problems, he manipulates matters into his own hands. And when Cassidy's relationship with her fiance begins to crumble, Grayson is there to pick up the pieces, reminding her that love doesn't always have to be a sacrifice.

His secret isn't safe for long. Can a foundation be reconstructed on stolen words? Or will Cassidy mark their romance return to sender?

Disappointing

Even a great narrator can't rescue a story with a lacklustre story and insipid lead characters. I have to care and feel invested in what happens to the characters, but when they are essentially spineless and have few redeeming emotions or character traits, its difficult.
Usually happy to give goid ratings, I just can't with this. Despite Mr Yorks excellent performance (as ever), this one was a waste of a credit.

Sweet and Sexy

The universe grants a serendipitous encounter for two people who need to find each other. Grayson, the hunky, awkward around women science guy, and Cassidy; the sweet, people pleaser young woman who has given up her own dreams of becoming an archeologist to appease her boyfriend, currently in the navy.

Is it wrong to break the law, if you know it’s the right thing to do? Grayson learns the real woman of his desires through letters not belonging to him. He should return them to the rightful owner. But when he knows Cassidy’s boyfriend does not deserve her, he does what the universe has challenged him to do. Find this woman.

Cassidy has once again found herself lead down a path, not of her chosen will; move to New York and take care of her childhood friend and cousin, Mya. But when threatened with no place to live, fate steps in and Cassidy finds work with a man that will connect her to Grayson.

Grayson’s nuclear project on the Navy carrier he was assigned is now complete, and life back at the High Tower has not held up to his expectations. But when he discovers the reasons, he learns the face behind the Stolen Words. The words etched on his heart.

Both Grayson and Cassidy deal with terrible guilt, living behind borders not allowing them their real happiness. Grayson and Cassidy learn that all the things that happen in space and time, there’s no way that one instant could have possibly been their own doing. Until that one serendipitous moment when the wrong letter was put into the right hand.

Stolen Words is a love story endured with mystery, sweetness, charming moments with great characters you’ll fall in love with. Mya is the cousin with chutzpa every girl needs in her life. And an ending that will leave you wanting more of Grayson and Cassidy, now that fate has brought them together. I highly recommend this book by India Caedmon.

India Caedmon is a new-to-me author who has impressed me with style, charm, drive, and personality. In a podcast, (Non-De Plum) Indie describes some of her pet peeves. The Hero is always HOT! The Heroin is always HOT! This does get annoying. So, who better to narrate this book than Sebastian York. The never seen Unicorn. With Sebby’s read-to-me-please-sexy voice, we are able to visualize the perfect man for us. Whatever he may look like.

CJ Bloom was the perfect Cassidy. With her sweet and youthful voice, I could see the young, untouched, people pleaser of a woman. That soft and innocent voice, yet sweetly sexy.
I'm Looking forward to High Tower #2

Debut Novel has Stolen my Heart!

As a debut romance novel, Stolen Words is a breath of fresh air with original writing and a captivating story line. The author has an eloquent mastery of the English language which she uses to paint the details of the story into the readers’ mind. The story comes alive through the vivid descriptions of each scene. The description of what it is like being on a U.S. aircraft carrier was right-on! The characters are real, believable and fallible, some with endearing traits and some with toxic attributes. The author knows we have all encountered similar people which makes the novel so believable. Just when you think you have the book figured out, she turns the story in a different direction leaving the reader thinking, “well, I didn’t see that one coming!” This makes the novel fresh, entertaining and satisfying! If this is the author’s debut novel, I am thrilled to know there will be more novels in the future. She is just beginning and I can’t wait to see her writing skills grow stronger over time as she becomes a master storyteller.

Ugh. Tbh I didn’t actually listen.

I couldn’t listen to this. The third person narration was driving me completely insane. I did chapter one and stopped. The book has the possibility of being good. But the talking into the third person was annoying ASF

I loved it

I’m not sure how to word it. It’s not as if the story was gripping or exciting.. it just.. was. The characters stories were interesting, their lives. The progression. I kinda wish it were longer so I could see more of how Greyson and Cassidy got along. I also wanted Kyle to suffer a bit more but I’m a sadist. I suppose him having to live with himself if punishment enough.

I had 0 issues with either narrator. They both contributed to the enjoyment and flow of the novel.

I will certainly be looking into more of India’s writing

SERIOUSLY?!

More of an all around 4 1/2 Star book.

There has got to be more of this story somewhere, India. You end it like you have a sequel to these two's story. I also loved how you had the two fall for each other without ever having sex. It's refreshing!

Performance was pretty good. It would have been more enjoyable, I think, if C.J. Bloom would have done all the chick voices while Sebastian York did all the male voices. That's about my only complaint on performance.

Story was good as well. I think there's more to it though, and I think the Epilogue could've been longer. (Maybe a letter from Cassidy back to Grayson, since this was about him stealing her letters and then commenting that her letters will finally be addressed to him. Loved that part!) And if there isn't going to be a part 2 with them reuniting, then that should've been the Epilogue.

This story feels/seems more like a Tragedy. Just as Grayson gets Cassidy back, they're torn apart.

Not sure...

Perhaps I'm the wrong person to review this book. I just couldn't get into it. Everything moved too slow for me. Not much happening... just mundane things. I skipped chapters too. And then eventually gave up.

I got this book because I love Sebastian York. I have listened to dozens of his books and he is simply amazing.

Sorry.
