Different narrator please

Great story but the narration became annoying. Every sentence read with the inflection of surprise even when there was none

A must read for Thrawn Fans

have to say what an amazing book that leaves you wanting more

After the first trilogy of Thrawn this is an amazing backstory of one of the smartest Star Wars characters

Read the first 3 books before this one it will make it so much more enjoyable in my opinion

Another great story about Thrawn

Another great story, can't wait for the next book.
Great performance and the switching between memoires and the current events is done really well.

amazing prequel

Thrawn Ascendancy finally escaped to constricted structure of Thrawn Alliances and Treason that was caused by Rebels.

Young Thrawn was great and I loved his and Alaranis relationship. The caretaker and the Skywalker were also great characters and seeing these warriors deal with a child was fun.

Seeing the Chiss Ascendancy and its inner workings was super interesting and was great world building.

A must read if you love Thrawn.

Not as good as previous books

It's OK, not as captivating as previous installments, took me close to a month to finish it, during lockdown when I had nothing else to do... Story is slow and plods along... Hardly feels like a Thrawn book.

Living among Chaos

An amazing story, but not an easy one perhaps.

We are finally introduced to de closed culture of the Chiss and they many intricate characteristics.
we also see a new side of Thrawn and Ar'alani, giving more depth to the old characters while introducing new ones that open paths and insights to the story.

Although the story can be understood with no prior knowledge if you have been reading the previous novels of Thrawn, either form the new trilogy or Heir to empire you'll obtain an incredible amount of information about the always mysterious side of the star wars galaxy, and it's dynamics.

You can truly feel the Chaos that surrounds the characters either because of their location and what it entails to live in that area of space, and even the patterns in actions move in this nature, creating the scenes of an intricate story and civilization.

It also accomplished perfectly in giving life to that part of Star Wars Galaxy, ever present never seen like this before.

A masterpiece

As expected from Timothy Zahn another masterpiece. The way he develops characters and plotlines is simply amazing. If you have read the rest of Thrawn books this one really helps to fill in the blanks
