Summary
Get all five books in the Star Scavenger Series for one low price. A massive 29 hours of thrilling space opera adventure with the mystery and action of Indiana Jones.
From book one:
Hudson Powell had always been a drifter, but after his father died, he vowed to turn his life around. He quit freelancing as a starship pilot and joined the Relic Guardian Force as a 38-year-old rookie.
That was a big mistake.
The RGF police the alien wrecks that have been found on every portal world discovered in the last century. They make sure the relic hunters pay taxes on the priceless alien tech they scavenge from the hulks. The snag is that the RGF is corrupt. And Hudson’s training officer Logan Griff is the worst scumbag of the lot.
Pushed over the edge, Hudson stumbles upon the exhilarating world of the relic hunters and meets the equally intoxicating and deadly mercenary Tory Bellona.
Cast out from the RGF, Hudson Powell chooses a new path. But the discovery of a unique alien crystal will set events in motion that cannot be undone. People stopped asking where the alien hulks had come from. People stopped asking who created the portals, and why.
Hudson will discover that some alien relics are best left buried. One decision can change the course of an entire civilization. One discovery can change your life.
If you love space sci-fi like Firefly and Stargate blended with the mystery and adventure of Indiana Jones, you’ll love the Star Scavenger series. Begin listening to this thrilling five-book saga today.

Amazing story
If you are someone who has grow up with star wars/star trek with a hint of indiana jones and likes Sf genre i think this is the book for you. The story is well written , its interesting from the start to the finish . My most favorite part of the day has become my morning commute to my work since it meant i can listen to the book. At some point the story became so interesting that i had to find out whats gonna happen next so i continue to listen to the book even on my break time at work . After so many hours spent listening now that i'm finish with the book i wish that there is more books like this or that those 29h didn't flew so fast . The book is also very well narrated. I highly recommend this book as the story will keep you interested all the way till the end .

Great story and plot
This is a brilliant series of books, in effect one story spread over several books. Clever plotting, well rounded characters and a gripping plot. The narration was good, but a little suspect on the female voices ( they mostly sounded the same), and some of the pronunciation was a bit odd to my British ears. Thoroughly recommended.

Strong world-building in entertaining series
From a value perspective, this book obviously delivers since it collects all five books in the series into a single audiobook, but obviously the series has to be an enjoyable one and thankfully that is the case with this one. Throughout the series, the author manages to strike a good balance between advancing the plot and growing the characters, while continuing with strong world-building that helps to draw in the reader further. Some of the titles the author mentions in the summary include Stargate and Firefly and while the former felt more of a mechanical connection, I saw stronger links to the latter in terms of characterisation and world-building. Hudson shares a certain attitude with Mal Reynolds and Liberty, his sidekick, had traits of both Kaylee and River. However, some familiar elements does not mean that the characters were not distinctive enough in their own right as both them and a varied supporting cast helped to bring this series to life very effectively. The performance of the narrator was a good one overall, with a varied range of tones for the extensive cast, the only one that disrupted my immersion somewhat was one character with a very monotone style, but even then that was how the author had written that character so it wasn't a negative of the performance itself. Overall, this was an enoyable listen, but I found it worked even better for me once I started to treat it like individual books rather than just one long one, taking a slight break between them before returning for the next instalment. Great sifi seris
Enjoyed the books from start to finish This is like a typical thurs night primetime seris. Great fun and easy to follow. No complex storylines, jist fun and exitment. The only slight thing was the start of the book the narrator voice was tiny and hard to listen to but the story quickly gripped you and you forgot or got used to it. Will defently be looking into other books by this auther.

While I don't think this book is bad. I am not into protagonist who knows his enemy will backstab him yet spare his life which will end up in another backstab. Great premise and world building though.

30 Hours of Space Adventure
This was a completely unknown author and narrator to me so I was taking a bit of a chance. But with a complete 5 book series in one volume it's hard to go wrong if the story is half way decent. This turned out to be the bargain of a lifetime. I loved this series and the only thing I could wish for is More! More! More! I will definitely be looking for more from this author as he has shown me that he knows how to put together a great story. Same is true for the narrator. Several different voices and accents made it easy to follow the story. Very well done. I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I do lots of reviews but rarely have I enjoyed a book more.

Good Series
Honestly, I thought the book series was a little slow at the beginning, however by the end of the first book, I was so ready to hear more. What I really enjoyed was how the author portrayed the universe. It didn't feel at all like Star Trek or something like that it felt more like the Wild West in outer space.

Good, if written by a 13yo
I didn’t expect much, and after a few hours still left disappointed. I could have tolerated kitschy spacey content, but there was more linear turning of the machine than any book which I’ve read or listened. I kept trying to get past the goody two shoes main character, with his code of stupidity, but I just couldn’t. If it was written by a 13yo, I could excuse the shallowness of the plot and the ridiculousness of the character’s behaviors, but it still wouldn’t be worth the credit. Start listening to it soon after you purchase, so you can still return it for refund. I made it 8 out of 29hrs before I just couldn’t take it any longer.

Weak
To be honest, I had to give up on this part way through the 3rd story. So thats about half way through this book. Why? Because it just got very dumb. I liked the setting. The idea of portals connecting worlds is interesting. I also liked the Firefly characters... but... What I didn't like: 1. The entire idea of relic hunters & tax collectors. Good on one hand, but poorly executed here. Relic hunters were a good concept, but finding lost artifacts on a spaceship that had been gone over by 10,000 other relic hunter parties... duh. Having one spaceship per planet? No other artifacts? 2. The main characters are hunted by bounty hunters. Its interesting at first, but after the 20th escape due to one of the two bounty hunters always thwarting the other (their partner no less), it gets old. 3. The bounty hunters were hired by the tax collectors. One of them is just so thin as a character it aches. The fact that its either the bounty hunters or this other dude that the main characters keep running into across the galaxy is just too far fetched. Its like the entire galaxy is just these 4 people. 4. Didn't like the background plot where a giant ship that destroyed all sentient life forms is now coming for humans. It seemed that Liberties turning on her new portal finder alerted the ship half way across the galaxy that 'hey, its time to hunt humans now'. What I really really didn't like is Liberty and Hudson were looking at a radar image, they see a red dot for the first time and it gives hudson the chills. He knows something is not right..... 'HOW?" The dude is looking at a blip on the radar. GAH 5. Didn't like the dumb alien AI following them around. just seemed goofy. 6. Jesus, I could go on and on. I guess I really didn't like this story. Maybe 2 stars is too generous.
