Zum Autor
Rainer (eigentlich: René) Maria Rilke wurde am 4.12.1875 in Prag als Sohn eines Beamten geboren. Von der Mutter als Mädchen erzogen und vom Vater auf eine Militärschule geschickt, durchlitt der sensible Rilke eine traumatische Jugend, die er früh, 1894 erschien ein erster Gedichtband, lyrisch verarbeitete. 1926 starb Rilke nach langer Krankheit in Val Mont bei Montreux. Er gilt als der bedeutendste und einflussreichste deutsche Dichter des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts.
