I found this book to be very helpful in my healing journey. I thought I knew quite a bit about the mind body connection through my years of yoga and self improvement but I have learned so much. More than 50 practical exercises that are well explained. The pdf contains journal prompts, charts and reflective questions as well as diagrams for understanding and clarity. First, it lays a great foundation, in simple and relatable terms, for the impacts of stress and trauma on your body that beg the question: what can I do? It then does a very good job of outlining what Somatic Therapy is all about, how it works, and how a novice can get started. Third, I appreciate the structured “workbook” format that is heavy on practical applications, exercises, reflections, notes and journaling, and illustrations.
