The Catcher in the Rye for the digital age” The Times

My name is Tori Spring. I like to sleep and I like to blog. Last year – before all that stuff with Charlie and before I had to face the harsh realities of A-Levels and university applications and the fact that one day I really will have to start talking to people – I had friends. Things were very different, I guess, but that’s all over now.

Now there’s Solitaire. And Michael Holden.

I don’t know what Solitaire are trying to do, and I don’t care about Michael Holden.
I really don’t.

This incredible debut novel by outstanding young author Alice Oseman is perfect for fans of John Green, Rainbow Rowell and all unflinchingly honest writers.

I wish I could hear it for the first time again. I especially love the ending.

I love it

It's a complex story about teenagers and how difficult it is. It deals with mental health issues and how nothing is black and white. It is about feeling so alone in the world, so lost and being unaware of your future before you. It is about the complexity of friendship and how, in the end, we really are all in this together, and we're all struggling within our own worlds. Tori is such a beautiful character. I love her many layers and how she's depicted throughout the book. I also have the physical copy, so I listened to some and read some. All in all one of my favourite books.

Incredible

Such a nostalgic book for me, maybe not the best in the world but lovely to re listen to it.

I did really enjoy it, i thought it was a really accurate portrayal of teenagers and was very relateable. The characters felt real and the dialogue was believable. Really enjoyed the wit, sarcasm and humor undermining the novel.
