Thought I had come across all the Skinner books, but this originally came out in the 90s, although only recently as an audiobook.
From the beginning it sounds like the Lockerbie bombing, and proceeds as a murder investigation rather than an aircrash investigation. Terrible though it is, Skinner seems disproportionately upset and we have a lot of his personal history which was interesting

bit surprised at abrupt ending which is completely out of the blue really given previous relationship closeness.
American accent as always from this narrator ...appalling ..sorry bit true..

A brilliant listen. James Bryce is excellent at creating all of the many characters. He brought this book to life and read with emotion.
Plot kept you on your toes throughout and I loved the way the story developed and finally resolved. It was great to see that policing can be frustrating.

I’ve already downloaded the next book.

story seemed a little weak and relied a lot on MOD/ security services involvement. I was also surprised that it took a psychiatrist to make Skinner remember a previous aircrash he was involved in. I am sure he would have acknowledged that at the time he was at the crash site with this latest one.
