About this listen

Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard, is about to have a very bad day. As Winter Knight to the Queen of Air and Darkness, Harry never knows what the scheming Mab might want him to do. Usually, it's something awful.

This time, it's worse than that. Mab's involved Harry in a smash-and-grab heist run by one of his most despised enemies, to recover the literal Holy Grail from the vaults of the greatest treasure horde in the world - which belongs to the one and only Hades, Lord of the Underworld.

Dresden's always been tricky, but he's going to have to up his backstabbing game to survive this mess - assuming his own allies don't end up killing him before his enemies get the chance....

Without a doubt the best Dresden book yet. Each book gets stronger and more intense. The play between characters, the plot twists, the depth of all the characters.
And they are all brought to vivid life by James Marsters.
Exceptional audio book.

I loved this book - great story and I love the way the main characters continue to develop. Very pleased Michael got a decent role in this one. And it leaves open the possibility of more books to come - something that worried me a lot at the end of Changes, followed by Ghost story where I wondered if we were reaching the end of the line

One major concern though is its 5 years since this was published and apart from a short story or so nothing else since I hope there are more to come and Butcher has just taken a break

as always James Marsters is superb- its hard to see how anyone could possibly narrate these books any better - to me Marsters is the voice of Harry Dresden

Dresden at his best
