About this listen

Peyote Trip has a pretty good gig in the deals department on the fifth floor of Hell. Sure, none of the pens work, the coffee machine has been out of order for a century, and the only drink on offer is Jagermeister, but Pey has a plan—and all he needs is one last member of the Harrison family to sell their soul. When the Harrisons retreat to the family lake house for the summer, with their daughter Mickey's precocious new friend Ruth in tow, the opportunity Pey has waited a millennium for might finally be in his grasp. And with the help of his charismatic co-worker Calamity, he sets a plan in motion. But things aren't always as they seem, on Earth or in Hell. And as old secrets and new dangers scrape away at the Harrisons' shiny surface, revealing the darkness beneath, everyone must face the consequences of their choices.

Really gripping story

I absolutely loved Sign Here. It was funny, clever, and totally different from anything I’ve listened to in a long time. The idea of Hell being just another soul-crushing office job was weirdly relatable in the best way.

Pey, the main character, was super easy to root for—even though, technically, he's a demon. I really enjoyed his dry sense of humor and how he just seemed so done with everything.

KQ, his boss, was hilarious in that painfully familiar "middle manager who thinks she’s important" kind of way. The narrator did such a great job with her voice—I could picture her so clearly. And Trey... ugh. Every time he opened his mouth I rolled my eyes, which I think was exactly the point. He’s that overly confident guy who always gets credit for doing the bare minimum.

The story also flips back and forth to a family up on Earth, and that part kept me guessing the whole time. There were twists I didn’t see coming, and the characters were all really well written.

If you like dark humor, great narration, and something a little different, I’d definitely recommend this audiobook. It’s one of the best I’ve listened to in a while.

Didn’t expect to love it so much

This was unexpectedly enjoyable. It follows a character who works in the Deals Department of Hell and the family he is trying to sign. It is pretty much a dual story between the character, Pey, and the family.
Although it appears to be a silly idea, the book actually has a lot of heart.
