Summary

As they say their last goodbyes to their dear friend, mourners are horrified to find unearthly visitors have joined them. As their hysterical singing and nervous laughter fade, a "vague, and formless, and indefinite" shadow appears which leaves the mourners paralyzed with fear. The shadow speaks in the voice of "familiar accents of many thousand departed friends."
