Summary

Lock up your political correctness and join in the fun of a movie within a movie, within a novel, wrapped in a blood-soaked blanket of senselessly gratuitous nudity and violence; a spoof of 80s slasher movies that leaves no cliché unmolested.

What a brilliant and fun listen - just go with it

This was such fun - yes leave your political correctness at home and just go with it. Such a spoof. I didn't know Matthew Crow had it in him - so used to him narrating pandemic books he really went for it and had such a comedic turn. Wow.

The story itself was so much fun - great slasher take.

So recommend especially in this time. I simply had to listen in one go.

I was given an advance copy by the narrator but this in no way influenced my review.

It was a fun listen that made me laugh out loud at points!

When I first started listening I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book, it’s different from anything I’ve listened to before but when I got used to the style I loved it!
It’s not ‘politically correct’ in any way! It makes fun of all the usual stereotypes and I loved that!

Hilarioius!

I loved this book, it was laugh out loud funny, and left political correctness in its dust. In the wonderful tradition of retro slasher flicks like Scream, all cliche's, tropes and stereotypes were abused to the point of ridiculousness. Matthew Crow's narration was presented with humour and sensitivity to endangered cheerleaders. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
