Summary

The looming war with Darrow has faded to a distant shadow, but Will’s continued studies at Wurthaven are disrupted by an unforeseen threat.

Selene’s absence has raised suspicion among her friends and Will’s father-in-law, the king, is now directing his ire at the obvious culprit: his daughter’s new husband. Meanwhile, the citizens of Cerria have begun disappearing and a shadowy figure is stalking Will’s sister, Laina.

With his power pushed to the limit, Will finds himself attempting to preserve a family that rejected him and trying to save a city whose king might rather see him dead. Desperate for help, he may not be able to trust the powers that have supported him in the past, for though the fae could be the source of the catastrophe, they only offer their assistance for a price. Evil stalks the streets of Cerria at night, seeking the blood of his family, the destruction of the city, and the death of the king.

Will may have to decide what is most important for Terabinia: preserving the people of its most prosperous city or saving its questionable ruler.

Sucks you into the story as always

Once again Mr manning has been able to make me forget about the real world.

TGR is as always one of the greatest narrators there is in the business, brings the characters to live as always, love his interpretation of Aragon really packs a punch with his swearing.

This new series of mr mannings is slowly becoming one of my favourites, if this series keeps heading in the same direction it will soon surpass his mageborn series which I very much enjoyed

Great, but....

I loved this book and was entertained by it. however, it feels like this series has lost direction and purpose. all it is now is main character trying to live life rather than having an overarching goal. it was also hard to relate to the book for me. the character made many questionable decitions that don't seem consistent with his personality.(spoiler) like saving a moral enemy.

Great 3rd book!

After leaving story two I felt myself a little underwhelmed. But by the end of story 3 I found myself cheering will As he made his way through Tamil chua's family issues and better understanding of magical principles. I can't wait four.

another hit out of the park!

I always make them short and sweet, the book is fantastic, the story is wonderful, the performance is spot on, I don't think it could be done better. Can't wait for the next book, I'm sure there will be more.

I still love it but

So I enjoy these books, the amount of detail and is the words are woven into a story is fantastic, though I feel this book is kinda iron man 2 of these books, important but it is not what I personally enjoy these for.

Now that said spoilers
Maybe.

I am not a fan of cucking and while it was not actually cucking in this case which was obvious, that part kinda tainted my enjoyment of parts of the book, parts where I was reminded of the possible cucking. Just how I feel about the subject and it was well written but still what’s with fantasy writers and cucking...

Wonderful book.

Manning has a way of drawing out emotions. For three days straight I felt the anxiety of a certain key emotional plot point. So much so, that I kept thinking over the ramifications of the situation and what I'd do in that place. Well done, Sir!

This is a masterful series. June can't come any faster as the narrator of this series does such a great job, I don't want to change the format. I'd rather wait.

If you enjoyed the other books in this series, you'll enjoy this.

Sincerely,

Virgil Allen Moore

Another great story from mr manning

Our protagonist is a young man with a lot to learn. Our privilege is that we get to observe that growth. All of this while cringing at some of his mistakes and admiring the youth for his potential. I look forward to the additional stories that will make this whole series a pleasure that I will indulge in over and over.
