Can it help, yes.
If you could sum up Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts in three words, what would they be?
Useful, insightful, yes!
What other book might you compare Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts to and why?
I don't know what I would compare it to but I would recommend its use with professional counseling. It makes all the difference in the world and really helped me refocus on the parts of this book that make me a better fiance and eventually wife. Other great books: The relationship cure, The 5 Love Languages... really anything by John M. Gottman.
What about Les Parrott and Leslie Parrott ’s performance did you like?
I love that they are being real. They wrote this, they lived it and they are telling you about what they have learned, even how they learned it. They have a ton of valuable experience in this area.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
You must cultivate contentment! Learn to adjust to things that are out of your control and avoid the blame game!
Any additional comments?
I didn't like that it constantly sounded like a commercial for the Symbis assessment. I'm sure that it's a great assessment (I admit I haven't taken it) but I think too much time was spent repeating that advertisement for it; the commentary finally got shorter toward the end of the book.

Not as advertised. Waste of time.
This was a waste of time.
1. A major assumption is that the reader is a devout, practicing Christian and marrying another devout, practicing Christian. If this is not your case, this is not your book. It is a shame that the marketers tried to make this an "everyone's relationship advice block buster" while in fact it is only relevant to a very specific segment of the population.
2. The book should be a stand-alone work, but instead it is littered with directions to consult other books, online tests, and approved fascilitators. You as the reader are expected to purchase all of these additional services/materials. This is not only distracting to the book, but it means that this book is incomplete on its own.
3. The book is for people who are engaged or already married. It is not helpful for people looking to gather information on whether or not marriage is an appropriate option. Again, I think the advertising on this book was misleading.

Not recommended!
This book was very hard to follow. Kept referring to other online tests you need to take and you have to find someone interpret them. The book is directed at certain people assuming they have certain problems before they get married. What about a young Christian couple. Our daughter and future son in law were so turned off by it they stopped listening.
Very disappointed! Would not recommend to anyone!
