About this listen

Well this was f*cking brilliant! Didn't have super high expectations but they were beyond blown. Intriguing mystery, tantalising romance, hot smut (I could of done with more of it, but that's a testament to the quality), character depth and realistic social dynamics. Creates a fascinating world, worth exploring, for many more hours than provided in this very satisfying tale.

I really enjoyed this tale. Worth the listen, and so well narrated. The characters are great, the steamy scenes are great. The mixture of magic and salt and skin is thrilling, so clever, and it’s a tale most people know, but this retelling is just amazing.

Ok first I am not a fan of the cover so it took me a while to even try this book. But once I did I was hooked. If you like m/m romance with a bit of mystery and a bit of hurt comfort, it's very good.

I really enjoyed this one! God knows I have a sweet spot for historical fantasy-and when there's gay spice, it's even better 😉 This didn't disappoint: interesting plot, mythology/folklore, enjoyable characters...
My only complain was the ending for the romance because it felt more like an HFN ending than a HEA. As a first book in a series, the ending would have been fine but since it's a standalone, it was too open and I'm personnally not a fan of it. I needed more concrete plans for their romantic future.
