Summary

Unscripted Love: Kyle Vaughn had three goals in life: Become a vet, find the man of his dreams, and start a family. Chaz Hamilton took a leap of faith when he decided to pursue a career in writing, but one best seller didn't mean he could quit his day job. One magical kiss beneath fireworks and stars changed everything. Kyle and Chaz learn that the best-laid plans often go awry, the heart has a mind of its own, and the greatest love is unscripted.

Someone to Call My Own: Psychic Emory Jackson and former black-ops specialist Jonathon Silver are men from two completely different worlds with one thing in common: heartbreak. Sparks fly when mutual friends introduce them, but it's so much more than basic attraction. Maybe these broken men with their jagged edges could somehow align perfectly to form something whole and beautiful. But will that realization come too late for them?

Nobody's Prince Charming: Darren McCoy and Wren Davison are two opposites that shouldn't mix well. Dare believes in fairy tales, true love, and happily ever after. Wren believes in fast cars, freedom, and no-strings sex. What can these two men possibly have in common? Passions ignite once the men stop fighting their attraction, but will it be enough to overcome their differences?

Contains mature themes.

Tears and Laughter

3 magical stories, lifelike characters and plot twists worthy of a soapy. Well done to the writer and narrator.

interesting dynamic though not original

I like the story but I could only get about 2 hours into the first one. the same narater is used for both characters and while he's not bad there is no distinction between them so when they change chapters and a differt character had a first person pov it takes a while to realise it and it gets very confusing. this book might be better suited to being read.

Terrible narrator

The story was boring and too simple. You will roll your eyes so many time they will hurt. The worst though is the narrator. Can’t listen this guy

A real pleasure to listen to.

I laughed and cried at the stories in this selection. Particularly emotional was Someone to call my own with Emory and Jonathan which made me cry several times. Joel brought a passion to the narration that worked brilliantly.

Sounds like it was written in an hour

In a word: cringey. Hollow romance, tryhard humor, nonsensical scenes. Writing is extremely mediocre. Lots of telling, not showing. Story structure is nowhere to be found. Even the wording of sentences grated on my nerves. Wouldn't even read this quality of writing for free.

Let's take a look at the first book. Others are right; it's extremely obvious the writer didn't even bother Googling the basics of World of Warcraft. If this is core to the story, maybe give it a LITTLE effort, geez. The leads would say things like, "I messaged you on the gamer chat app on my mobile phone," which is such an unnatural way to talk I wanted to scream. The writer couldn't even be bothered to think of a fake "gamer chat app" name for her story about two guys who play games together?!

The self-indulgent references to Chaz being a hotshot romance writer made me wanna barf. Nothing in the story works. I knew I was done when Chaz's mom, grandma, and aunt barge into his home in the early chapters to encourage him to get with Kyle and then proceed to make multiple obscene sex jokes. They are excessive, tryhard, and not remotely believable. I'm so tired of this corny copy-and-pasted style of humor in romance books.

Despite all my misgivings, I continued on. I was a fool. It doesn't get better.

Joel Leslie is ordinarily a favorite of mine, so I was surprised by how off his performance is. Awkward pauses, misplaced emphases, and occasionally offensive voices. (I swear one side character has a Mammy caricature voice, Christ.)

Worst. Narration. Ever

Love the author, love the stories. But, narration is terrible. No feeling. Bad accents, stereotype character voices.

A great series!

What’s there to say about this series that hasn’t already been said? I love it! I have read the books so many times that I actually know some parts by heart and listening to Joel Leslie narrate them was just icing on the cake!
My favourite couple in these three-books boxed set is Chad and Kyle from Unscripted Love, but I have to say I loved Joel’s rendition for Jon’s character in Someone to Call my Own.
Nobody’s Prince Charming is just precious: this sweet and funny fairy-tale-like story is a pleasure to read!

DNF

I felt like the first quarter of the first book was the author telling me the story instead of showing me. The first book got kinda good in the middle but the end was really drawn-out. I couldn't finish the second one. I have heard a lot of books narrated by Joel Leslie, and he is kind of a hit and miss for me. I think I prefer him reading books that require an accent from the UK.

Narration disaster

Joel Leslie…unfortunately this is a voice that grates my nerves which is such a shame as I loved the story line. I suffered through the whole box set, the second being the worst, his accent was a mix of southern, french and I don’t know what.
Anyhow, love Aimee Nicole Walker, please please use a different narrator!!

I know it's romantic fiction but...

The first book was almost enough for me simply to return the series and give up on it. the actual storyline was over halfway through the book and after that it was like they were simply struggling to make a storyline fit.

I enjoyed the story in the second book the most of the three. Overall, the dialogue was extremely unrealistic. Men simply don't talk to each other the way that some of these characters do.

The performance was probably the hardest thing to get past, especially in the third book when the narrator slipped into voices that sounded a lot more like the geriatric characters when it was supposed to be a sex scene between the younger characters.

Okay then... Yes!

I wasn't sure about getting through the first book in Blissville because of the vocals. I pushed through to follow the story and glad I did. Book two was an interesting story and I was invested in the couples development. By the end, I wanted more of their story told. Book three gave me laugh lines from chapter 1! Narrator's vocal choices fit well. I'm all in now-- let's go Blissville book 4!

Cute stories of some of the side characters.

This was a good follow for the side characters that played a roll in Josh and Gage story.
