Summary
The brooding hero, gypsy Jake Lovell, under whose magic hands the most difficult horse or woman becomes biddable, is driven to the top by his loathing of the darling of the show ring, Rupert Campbell-Black.
Having filched each other’s horses, and fought and fornicated their way around the capitals of Europe, the feud between the two men finally erupts with devastating consequences at the Los Angeles Olympics.

In addition to this, the narration increased my enjoyment of the book even more, Gerri Halligan giving a new depth to the characters and making me see some of them differently to how I had when I had read the book previously.
I love that this version is unabridged, as well as being very good value for members it is always good to hear the book in full as the author intended.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book, and now join other reviewers in a cry to have the following books in the same format - who do we need to petition?!?
Brilliant version

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This was a fantastic book, I came late to the Jilly Cooper novels but it was worth the wait. Even though it was written years ago it is still a great read and isn't really showing its age I love the horse world in real life and her characters are larger than life, especially Rupert. I didn't warm to his wife but that just added to my enjoyment of the book, everyone cant be perfect!. The culmination at the Olympics was superb, even if it was unbelievable to have Rupert riding with an injured arm. I loved the side story of Fenn and Dino, wish there was a follow up book with them as central characters.A gallop through the equestrian world
