Summary

Cocky and self-assured, I’m confident when it comes to my skills both on stage and in the bedroom. Everything in my life is perfect, even if I am the last single man standing in our famed rock band.

But it wasn’t always this way.

Jayla knew me before I hit it big. Back when I was a skinny teen, chasing dreams without a penny to my name. Now she’s back in my life and so much more than the girl I remember. Fiercely loyal. Beautiful and badass. She walked out of my life before, and I won’t let that happen again.

They say some songs are better on the second take, and if there’s one thing I know for sure, this is our time for a replay.

The books in the Off Track Records series are interconnected stand-alone romance novels and can be listened to in any order.

Detour: Trent and Lexi's story

Derail: Sean and Jess' story

Hinder: Leighton and Opal's story

Replay: Austin and Jayla's story

Fantastic end to the series

I love a good second chance romance and this definitely hit the spot. Add in the suspense that was brought and the things the couple had to overcome, it’s a solid story that will keep you hooked. Kacey Shea sure knows how to hook me and keep me invested in her characters. She weaves her stories so beautifully, making them fun whilst dealing with some difficult issues which are handled with sensitivity and grace. It’s been a joy to binge this series.

I was never sold on Austin. He was my least favourite member of the band so when I started this book, I was prepared to not be invested in the story. But what actually happened was I met my latest book boyfriend. Getting in Austin’s head and understanding him really made a difference and when I think back now to the previous books, I feel like I understand him more. He was not only the one-liner guy but the sweet and considerate guy, the guy with demons nobody knows about and the guy that will do what it takes to help those he loves. And how can you not swoon at that? Jayla is a kick-arse heroine with a difficult past. I knew it was going to be difficult for me once we found out about her, but it is written well and doesn’t go into too much detail. The way she has learned to cope and allowed Austin in was brilliant and realistic. Together, they were a force to be reckoned with. Their push and pull really worked for me, I loved their chemistry and how Jayla tried to fight it but once she gave in, it was game on.

I’ve never really been a fan of stories where the female takes control in the bedroom department but this worked so well and made perfect sense to the story that I really enjoyed it. It was a different dynamic.

There is a bonus epilogue on the audiobook and thank goodness, I’d have definitely felt disappointed had I not got the closure that provided.

Jason Clarke was on fine form in this production. He played the cocky rockstar so well. And especially made those more vulnerable and emotional scenes stand out and give the character the depth he was missing in the earlier books. Did I mention Jason also sings? Be still my heart. I was excited when I heard Morae Brehon was cast for this audio but unfortunately, the performance fell flat for me. I really struggled with her chapters, it felt choppy - in that the words didn’t seem to flow and it sounded like there was a period after every few words. Iodine I needed to speed up her chapters just to get through them, which was disappointing. Both Jason and Morae had smooth transitions between characters and the emotional sense were really heightened by their performances. The overall production was great.

Austin & Jayla

I was waiting on Austin's story and Kacey Shea does not disappoint! This second chance romance had me from the first chapter. Jayla, Austin's high school best friend shows up at one of his concerts. Now that he has seen her again, he isn't going to let her get away. Jayla, an ex-police officer, has missed Austin too, but knowing his reputation, and her past experience, is not anxious to let him in. When the band is threatened, Jayla is brought in to run the security team, and now Austin gets his shot. Secrets revealed, danger lurking, and passion high, Kacey Shea delivers my favorite book of the series.I love stories when the characters have history, and their second chance is not the easiest, making the slow burn ignite with passion. Shea deals with relevant issues in her books too, and Jayla's story is written with compassion. Then the bonus epilogue giving us a glimpse at the lives of all of our band members is the best! Seeing where time takes us after their books is just icing on the cake. This one is going in my top 10 listens of the year!

Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon are incredible together. Clarke keeps all his voices consistent through all 4 books, making the listen like coming home. We know who is speaking, and he has fantastic nuances in his voice making us understand all the feelings. Morae Brehon is amazing. She breathes life into Jayla, and draws us into her story. She is the perfect fit. It is a wonderful listen!

Entertaining!

Replay is the fourth and final book in Kacey Shea's Off Track Records series. It's a wonderful story filled with drama and suspense. I especially loved the bonus epilogue!

Narrators Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon were great as Austin and Jayla.

Replay is a second chance, BWWM contemporary rock star romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA and deals with sensitive subjects some may find triggering. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

All is good and complete in the 3UG world

I have been looking forward to Austin's story and can honestly say I wasn't at all disappointed... I knew there would be more to the cheeky chap than met the eye. I'm glad he and Jayla finally got their happily ever after.

I did find myself cursing out loud at times... “Tell her the truth...” “Tell him what you know” “Arghhhhh” I always take that as a sign of good writing!

Loved the narration too!

If i could give it more than 5 stars i would!

Replay is Austin and Jayla's story and what a great story it is.
I thought reading Replay was amazing but listening to Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon bring Austin and Jayla to life was next level!
Austin and Jayla were neighbours when they were younger and grew up together. Sadly Jayla and her family moved away and that was the last time they saw each other.
Years later at a 3 Ugly Guys concert, seeing each other again, their old feelings for each other came flooding back.
When an incident happens at a concert venue 3UG were due to play at, more security is needed and who better to employ than Austin's first love Jayla who now works in private security!
Austin has 6 weeks to show Jayla he's still the guy she once new and loved. That there is so much more to him than his rock star façade, that he is an amazing man with a big heart who stops at nothing for those he loves.
Jayla is a strong young lady who knows exactly what to say to put Austin in his place and is not afraid to call him out!
Will Jayla be able to protect herself from being hurt again by those she loves and trusts and protect her heart while living in close proximity on a tour bus with the man she cant get out of her head?
Listen to Replay now!
Replay shows you never really get over/forget about your first love.
Wow I really loved this book, I need an Austin in my life!
Although I'm sad its the end of the series, its a great end to Kacey's Off Track Records series, I hope that we will get a book later on to go back and see how the 3UG and their girls are doing.

Loved this final installment of the 3 Ugly Guys

This book is the final book following the 3 Ugly Guys and it was fantastic. I loved checking in with the guys (and their women) and this book follows Austin and Jayla, his childhood best friend and love. I loved seeing them become reacquainted and they are so great together. There are past issues to get over and a bit of danger and intrigue so this book is exciting and well rounded. I will miss these characters!

I had requested and received the audiobook, narrated by Jason Clarke and a new to me narrator, Morae Brehon. Jason Clarke is perfect. His voice is gorgeous but even more is his ability to control it to play multiple characters. And there was one moment when he sings!!!! Ah, truly an auditory experience. Morae Brehon is new to me and she was good when playing female characters. Her male characters were a bit forced and raspy but in such a way that was so different from Jason Clarke’s versions that it was a little jarring. Overall, though, I loved the story and really liked the narration.

Just Wow!

This series was outstanding. This book in particular was expertly written and narrated. Kacey Shea touched on delicate topics such as race and sexual abuse with great depth and compassion. Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon executed their respective roles with passion and believability. This book is definitely worth the credit.

Beautiful Second Chance to Love!

This is the fourth book in the Off Track Records Series, an amazing Rock Star Romance. I love the 3UG! I recommend listening to this Series in order (Detour, Derail, Hinder, and then Replay). Austin and Jayla's second chance to love has it all! It's fun, emotional, intriguing, suspenseful, and entertaining, filled with secrets, and twists and turns. There is a lot going on in this story. I loved to follow them in their journey. The Epilogue is beautiful. The supporting characters are great, and it's always great to see again the characters from the previous books. I love these series with interconnected characters! Jason Clarke and Morae Brehon did a wonderful job with the narration.

Where are the Austin’s of the world?

I loved it! Period! Great BWWM interracial romance and just like real life IR they don’t linger on race excessively (if they do it’s unhealthy) I laughed I felt sad happy and the sex.... Girl just listen for yourself. And as a black woman reading a white female authors depiction of a black females experience was touching because it’s just the female experience at the end of the day. She handled it beautifully and tactfully. Recommend 100%

Really Enjoyed

I really really enjoyed this journey that Austin went on to find love with a childhood best friend.

His fall is so beautiful! Her journey to sexual healing is just as beautiful!

I loved the wrap up of the over arching storyline from book two onwards of Coy being wrapped up.

Jason Clarke is so amazing at his talent. He did some singing towards the end and my heart just went putter pat 😍

Morae Brehon is new to me and she is quite talented. She brings the character Jayla to life so well.

Her guy voice is great too since her voice is lower and gravely in and of itself.

I will for sure follow her work ❤️

Awesome Listen!

Kacey Shea wrote an epic second chance romance in Replay. I loved how she wrote Austin's story. Life was not easy and he got his second chance and did so much good with Jayla. The extended epilogue was incredible. I loved how it included updates on the Detour, Hinder, Derail characters in addition to Austin and Jayla. Jason Clarke was amazing and Morae Brehon added the right balance for Jayla. Both narrators really brought the characters to life.

Woohoo...Love that Austin meets his match!

To be fair, this is really a second chance story. Austin is the last remaining single member of 3UG...and, even though he acts as if he doesn’t care, he’s starting to get the ‘settle down’ itch. When he runs into his ex girlfriend from his hometown...those days before he was a rockstar...Austin still feels the connection. Of course things don’t just fall into place for him...he’s being sued by the former drummer, Coy...the woman-abuser...for beating him up. Things get dark before they get better, trust me, Austin eventually gets the girl. Love the ending of this epic series!!!! Sad to say goodbye...3UG!!!!!

All good things must come to an end...

*ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review*

This is the last book in the 3UG series and while it is enjoyable I loved the other books in the series a little more. Austin is the typical rockstar playboy and and I excited to see him "go down" and find his match in this book. There is a little suspense in this book but I found it pretty predictable overall. It may have been that the other characters were a little more relatable for me and that's why I got into their storylines a little more (not that I have ever been rich or famous but some of the things they have been through).

I still would recommend the book 100% as it is an easy listen and the characters are all lovable and you will have some great laughs at times. 3UGs are a great time and your emotions will be all over the place. The story does pick up over the half way point so don't give up if you feel its a little slower than some of her other books.
