Critic reviews

"In 1986 (seven years before the release of the film Groundhog Day), Grimwood published this riveting novel about a man who dies of a heart attack and then wakes up in his college dorm room 25 years earlier. He discovers that he has the chance to live his life over again. And again. And again. This is one of the most elegant and moving time travels stories ever written. A thrilling adventure that also explores the nature of destiny and the human experience." (Ernest Cline, author of READY PLAYER ONE)

"I didn't just love Replay, I believed in it, I dreamed of it ... I also discovered that I wasn't only believer; at the time, there were fan sites dedicated to Replay. Hundreds of people - like the fellow replayers we never realize are out there - were all dreaming my same dream" (Brad Meltzer)

So glad I bought this book. A little like Ground Hog Day but with a life span rather than a day.
Hope there will be a sequel.

Brilliant original story

Listened to this book in 2 sittings, over 22 hours. What an incredible insight into the human condition of love, loss, regret and ‘what if.’ One of my most engrossing and engaging reads ever and incredibly intellectual, whilst being entertaining via a great performance. Can’t recommend enough.

I think that we have all thought that we would do things differently if we had our time again. This book explores that idea to the greatest extent possible.

The protagonist was interesting. The author has allowed him to have flaws and he feels very human.

Thoughtful and fresh SF, well worth the time.

A fresh twist on time travel

The first book in a very long time to capture my imagination and full attention. I am so glad that the main subject matter of this story remained a mystery. There was no cheap attempt to rationalise the phenomenon. It was just what it was and it was brilliant! I’ll never forget this one.
