This was my second and last effort. Never again will I listen to Paul Thorney reading anything. I definitely cannot stand him. His rythm : chuck, chuck, chuck is horrible to my ears. He reads
in the way I imagine somebody would read to his 100 years old aunt - finish quickly and not to bother.
I know that some people like his performance, so just a warning: play a sample. You will ever love it or hate it. If you hate it, don't buy. You will never get used!
I cannot estimate the story objectively. It seemed to me that the plot was cliché and the narration proceeded very slowly, but as I was so annoyed by the sound...

A quiet start belies an urgent story. The narrator adopted such an "ordinary" voice for the main victim which contrasted so well with the menace of the criminals. A lot of twists and turns - some red herrings, kept me guessing to the end. It is good to find another author of this genre to follow.

good story, poorly written. why use one word when you can use 10. Cant decide if this has deliberately dumbed down or the author is insulting the reader be explaining the same thing 6 different ways, and do we really need to know the snickers was being held in the left hand whilst Googling for info!! Shame because engaging story but became frustrating wanted to shout "Cut to the chase"
