About this listen

Living life as a free spirit has its rewards and pitfalls.

Early on, I had a rather eclectic childhood and developed an attitude of self-reliance and independence, which I have enjoyed with a lifetime of contrary behavior, that developed an almost terminal case of wanderlust. At an early age, I listened to the older generation saying, “I wish I had.” I was determined not to live a life of regret.

Walter Mitty had it right: To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of Life is about courage and going into the unknown.

Live by the A, B, Cs - Adventure, Bravery, and Courage. I read a sign many years ago, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”.

Once you step out, you won’t step back in. Never be afraid to make a mistake. You only go around in this life once, so make the most of it. These true stories are about experiencing life with all the mischief and misadventures that come along. It takes you through high school and college, early working life, drinking stories, racing motorcycles, experiencing some of the darker things while working overseas, and simply just doing “stupid stuff.” These stories will give you cause to laugh, think, and feel a little taste of fear. God has a plan for all of us. Don’t try to overthink it. Let it happen. As you listen to this book, I might have misunderstood some of His intentions. I must admit that many times the “bad” was a lot more fun, even with the dues you had to pay.

Enjoying this lifestyle, coupled with the need to increase that circle of interests, became a reason to travel to the Caribbean Islands, experience two trips to the Burning Man art festival, and work in Europe and Africa. Overall, I have worked in 15 countries and 39 states. I've done a lot of things and been to a lot of places; my wanderlust continues to point me toward new adventures, hopefully with a few misadventures along the way for more stories to be told.
