Very supportive for parents

Someone who has been there knows how to tell the story. This book is narrated with feeling and compassion by a parent who experienced the challenges of raising a kid with ADHD. The book is very supportive in that it emphasizes that kids with ADHD can have strengths and talents that other kids don't. Tips are provided for how parents can help their kid with ADHD to go to school, socialize, and have productive daily routines.

Sensitive but relevant topic

I gained a lot of kowlege and learned more about common misconceptions about what ADHD is and its causes from this practical book full of information on the subject. I now better understand my nephew, I am suddenly more patient after utilizing the tactics from this book. I believe understanding is the first step to improving the situation..My brother has now borrowed this book to get this knowledge after seeing some improvements.
And I believe that with this he can help modify his son's behavior
Also, the real-world examples are quite helpful and resonate.

A definite must have for parents!

This book is absolutely amazing. As a teacher I wanted to understand this diagnosis better to service my students. The book provides much more than the normal surface level literature available online and in teaching text. A real insight into the uniqueness of each child’s condition. I found the chapter on medication particularly insightful and how CBT is much more effective and safe, each chapter was very detailed and progressive. A definite must have for parents.
